The perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Room g05 was situated on the ground floor overlooking the pool. Room was spacious with amazing air con, cleaned daily, mini bar and freshtowels daily. Pool area was peaceful in the mornings but could get busy later in the day. The boys would bring extra beds out if needed. The omelettes at breakfast are freshlycooked and delicious. At the restaurant the menu was varied. I would recommend you try the greeny prawns a favourite of ours. Thank you joecons for a fab holiday. We'll be back xx

Nostalgia serves authentic Goan and Indo Portuguese cuisine served in a semi formal dining style. We have been awarded best food in our category for the last 5 years consecutively. We have a full service bar, with a range of spirits and cocktails. The ambience is representative of old Portuguese homes and decor, with indoor and al fresco Seating options. We have live music 6 times a week, ranging from Karaoke and instrumental Saxophone days to retro and evergreen dancing nights. Check our facebook page Nostalgia for updates on the week's events.
This lovely little place in a small village bylane off the Margao-Ponda Highway in South Goa, can only be found either by word of mouth or through reviews posted by kind souls on Internet sites like Tripadvisor and finally by using the goodness of Google Maps.
The reviews I read were great. The food was better. The ambience, service, food and music resonate with an aura and charm of the good old times when life was pure, simple and unadultrated by the excesses of modern life.
The service is earnest, kind and efficient. The food is all Goan and Gluttony Inducing . Most other diners while we were at the restaurant were locals. This speaks volumes for the quality and authenticity of the food. We had chorizos, beef chilly fry, mackerels shallow fried with reshad masala, mutton xaguti and bibinca. My 4 year old is a discerning connoisseur or good food and at his age, has no knowledge of and is unaffected by reputations. He loved the food and ate well.
The place and it's late founder have a little bit of culinary history. You may want to read the newspaper cutouts that you would find at one end of the restaurant. This would add some context to the food and what the owners are trying to do here.
And yes, the music and and singing was lovely too.
My only little grouse is that they didn't have ox tongue in the kitchen today. Now that leaves something for the next time. I'll be back.

Since 1950, one restaurant has been the watering hole of Margao, where families and friends could catch up with each other over a glass of beer or chat about good times over a forkful of arroz. A virtual landmark, the ever-popular Longuinhos Bar & Restaurant is one of Goa's oldest and most well known establishments. For over half a century now, Longuinhos has held its place as one of the top restaurants in the state. Not content to rest on its laurels, it was recently given a face-lift to coincide with its fiftieth anniversary. The restaurant is situated just opposite the Margao Municipal Council, in the heart of Margao city. The restaurant is an old favourite with city residents, with a nice laid-back atmosphere. The billiards room of the Portuguese era is today the air-conditioned section. Here at Longuinhos, we pride ourselves for the cuisine that we offer. We serve the very best of Continental, Indian, Chinese and Tandoori cuisines. But what really keeps our guests coming back is our authentic home-cooked Goan fare with its vindalhos, balchaos, xacutis, sorpotel, bebinca, and all the other wondrous dishes that make Goan cuisine unique and one of the most popular in India
We've been coming to Longuinos for over 15 years. It is a "must-do" in Margao. It is a cool oasis away from the bustle of the city. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
Having always used it as a morning café for drinks and snacks we decided to have our first evening meal there. We were not disappointed. It was superb.
But
It does need a "makeover". It has terrible lighting (not noticed during over usual morning visits), dark decoration and is badly laid out with a dominant cash counter by the front door.
The "makeover" should enhance the period features not lose them. This would make it more attractive for the younger clientele who will continue to be tomorrow's customers.
We noticed that ALL the customers that evening were male. Most of them middle-aged plus and few of them were eating. These are not tomorrow's customers.
In conclusion, this is a restaurant you should visit for the food and ambience. Just be prepared to be transported back to the 1950s

Gaylin dates 20 year back when I first visited it with my family and ever since I've been going there. I have eaten Chinese in almost ever part of the world and nothing beats gaylin.
Exceptional Indo Chinese food, for a reasonable price. Will definitely recommend this. Best place in Goa.

40 minutes after leaving the Peppers Gourmet Cuisine restaurant both me and my partner had an extreme reaction to the food, we suspect the prawns or fish cakes had gone off or something. We both spent the entire night vomiting etc. Never visiting again.

Decided to take a parcel from this place. Service was slow, despite their being only one table occupied. Ordered chicken/mutton/prawns biryani which was full of masala/herbs/onions. Could only eat the top part (white rice), almost 1/3 of the dish too oily/spicy to eat. Price average.

We were staying at the Haathi Mahal, and this is the onsite restaurant. The breakfast was a buffet, and the spread was quite extensive. They also make omelettes and dosas on order. Choice of three/four fruits, and two juices, good hash browns, and Indian dishes also.
The dinner is a la carte, and they take orders for most things, even if not on the menu. We forgot to tell our server to hold the oil and spices, unfortunately. Other than that, the food and sevice was very good.
