We stayed at Blue Bay but often got a taxi into Mahebourg for dinner at Che Patrick.
Food is delicious ( especially their Seafood) & very reasonably priced. The service is good & very accommodating. They also do take away.
Do NOT miss a visit to Che Patrick if you are in Mauritius, definitely worth the drive!!

The food was very good, although very expensive for what you get. We had very good fish and a fantastic deer curry - definitely must try. The atmosphere is great - cute place and amazing view of Mahebourg waterfront. The downer, which ruined the evening for us, was the very impolite staff. Unfriendly, insolent and borderline rude, it seemed like they were annoyed by having to get our orders. Shame.

We tried before settling for La Colombe a few other restaurants.
Chez Patrick and Monte Carlo did not convince us enough, the first was all in white cloth, too ostentatious and loud music, food nothing special, Monte Carlo too expensive compared, they added on the bill the VAT, haven`t seen that nowhere...
So, La Colombe, pastel colored interior, good food, especially the local cochon marron- small pig, small starter fish, calamari, saute vegetables...
thanks to Mario and Stephanie, she is a real singer, nice voice !

The restaurant is in a beautiful setting. The restaurant is charming and on arrival the food smells we're super delightful, so we were expecting a fantastic meal.
Sadly, the food was very average, under-seasoned and seemed to be rushed.
Not bad, but not great.
Judging from other reviews, ours was probably just an unlucky occurrence.

New year eve setting at Restaurant la Vielle Rouge. Outdoor restaurant with tent and red carpet and amazing flower. Moreover, there was an open buffet of various Seafood.

We chose the grilled lobster and found to our delight that it was "lobsters" as each plate held three half lobsters! As guests at Le Preskil Beach Resort, we only had a short stroll to the restaurant and although it was a little chilly, even for October, the dining area is well sheltered and our evening was most enjoyable!

The food tasted fine, nothing outstanding, but the problem was the price. I ordered fish tikka masala. It came in a very small bowl, rice was extra, no sides, nothing. I live in NYC and am accustomed to many Indian restaurants. Never have I paid so much for so little. I felt totally ripped off!

This place isn't big, but the atmosphere is wonderful. I asked for a typical Mauritian meal and was not disappointed. The music was good, it made me happy just to sit there with my husband and relax.

Local favourite, this place has kept up its reputation since I last have a meal there 15 years back. We love the noodles with octopus curry or 'palourdes'. The place is packed, very basic and very welcoming. It is an authentic mauritian snack restaurant.

As far as coffee and pastries, I enjoyed mine. Don't see this as a place for breakfast, but my experience was good. Enjoyed the coffee and power outlets while awaiting my counter to open. The coffee selection was extensive and more than I expected. With options from around the world.
