The Luxor in Las Vegas is to the actual CITY of Luxor, Egypt, as marshmallow fluff is to fois gras. (We’re sure you knew that. We just enjoy analogies.) Sure, the hotel/casino in Vegas might have a beam of light visible from space, but we bet you'll find a hot-air balloon ride over the Valley of Kings much more illuminating. Delighted to say the least!
Staying in the Steinberger Hotel, our guide Ayman recommended this restaurant. It far exceeded our expectations. The choice was wide, and having chosen we were delighted with our selections. High quality, fresh, very nicely presented and in a very attractive environment. And very reasonable prices, terrific value all round. Debbie is a star at front of house management although she does so much more to make this restaurant special. One of our best restaurant discoveries ever. Highly recommended. It's a must if visiting Luxor!

I first went back to Snobs with a friend after a long absence I really wish I had gone sooner.
My friend had duck with orange sauce which looked lovely and she confirmed it was, I had chicken curry which is one of my favourite dishes I was not disappointed, it was excellent just how I like it more like a Chinese curry, it was abundant in flavour and plenty of fresh chicken served with light fluffy rice. The best I’ve had in Luxor
I enjoyed it so much I returned a week later and had it again, I really must try Moamen’s other dishes at some stage as I saw the food being served to other diners and it all looked beautiful and everyone enjoyed it as I heard the comments given to the waiter.
I will be back this year inshallah as Moamen and his staff really do take care to ensure you enjoy the food and nothing is too much trouble.
I loved it and can recommend a visit.

We were taken at taste of India as a group for one of.our.many lunches so arranged. First shock on Seating arrangement.we were alotted seats next to toilet and such a corner that if one person is to move four others are required to be disturbed. And first time in my life we are offers drinking water.in plastic cheap cups. Food is aloo mux. Veg.overcooked Dal burnt roti rice not at all spicy. Desert is an orange. While leaving saw owner fighting with tour manager of another group where hungry members were waiting outside for their turn. Dood. Taste may differ but it is.presentation that is shabby.

Ahlan wa sahlan in Sofra, a restaurant located in the heart of Luxor that draws its inspiration from the rich Arabian culture. Sofra is situated in an old 1930s Egyptian house that still retains its traditional character. Sofra: A culinary voyage through Egypt! Discover the secrets of Egyptian cuisine and enjoy true traditional food in an oriental atmosphere in the heart of Luxor, Egypt.
We followed other reviewers' advice and had dinner at Sofra last week. Right in the heart of the bustling night streets of Luxor it's an experience finding it. The large open roof restaurant is clearly popular and is excellent value (£12 for 2 with 3 courses and fruit juices). The staff were friendly and helpful and our starters of baby aubergines and a form of cucumber and yoghurt were delicious. The lamb shanks with rice and vegetables which followed were rather dry without much meat on the bones, but this is often to be expected in Egypt where times are still hard and mutton more common than lamb. The melon juice was particularly good as was the the selection of desserts.

My wife and I ate dinner twice at Gerda's Garden when in Luxor. The food was excellent and the service and atmosphere were exceptional. The owners are very kind and welcoming. We had Egyptian cuisine the first night and Irish stew the second night. We loved it.

Friends recommended Africa on the West Bank and we enjoyed dinner there last week, after a ferry ride from the Temple side of the Nile. The Main Road, West Bank was crowded and noisy as Luxor celebrated Mothers' Day, but it was easy to find Africa, about five minutes' walk from the ferry pontoon. We had simple Egyptian food, fruit juices (it has no alcohol like many of the West Bank restaurants) and puddings and the meal for two was the equivalent of £10 in total! We asked for the 'full' menu but were only provided with copies of the tourists' set menu, but a special request for moussaka was met. Service was quick and efficient and though this was far from a culinary feast it was simple, nourishing food at a very good price.

Visiting Luxor with friends this months, a couple of us found ourselves ending the evenings with a stopover at King’s Head.
This is a simple pub, and a nice respite from the large hotel bars. Local beers, wines, and spirits, though the imported stuff is available, I think. And the barkeep remembers you after your first visit.
