The Savarin serves good fresh food. The restaurant is located by the roundabout in Bolderberg and is good for either a coffee, drink or a whole meal. We ate their several times and it did not disappoint. The menu is not extensive but each meal we had was good.

The meal was of average quality and not meeting the expectation of this price-category. It was too salty, not refined and some portions were too small. Service was friendly, but very slow, inefficient and nonchalant. Seating was very close to next table, which gave it rather a brasserie feeling and lacked privacy.
This restaurant does not meet the expectation of fine dining due to the average cuisine, high volume table arrangement, slow service, and overpriced meals.

Once a year we go for lunch/dinner in a special place. Because of the reviews we choose 'de Kwizien'. We went for lunch and we choose the 5 course season-menu. One of our group does not like fruits and for dessert we had to choose for ice-cream with fruits or cheese (this was asked even before we had the first course!). The person could not get only the ice-cream (with chocolate or something else) and was forced to pick the cheese. We believe for this kind of restaurant this is really weird (the bill was €150 per person including wine).... The rest of the courses was nice but not really surprisingly. This was not a place or lunch we would recommend and we will not return.

Restaurant beschikt over 2 verdiepingen inclusief haardvuur.
The location is excellent, rural and away from the busy roads and towns but still close enough to the highways if you invite friends or colleagues from other cities. Very suited for quiet dinners. We were only in Belgium for a few days and normally the restaurant is closed on Monday but after a phone call we could book a table for the four of us without any problems. We were still a few days away from the opening of the wild game season but they already had some delivered so we had deliciously prepared venison.
From the location, to the service, interior decoration, garden, the quality of the food and the wine everything was just perfect. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Steak tartare was close to perfect. Fresh, well-presented with quail's egg, gherkin, and caper berry. House made, hand-cut frites. Nice French red. Friendly owner. No down side at all.

I have to say I'm very enthusiastic about the dinner at this restaurant. The service from the lady of the house was very welcoming, friendly and professional. Also the fact that the chef got to the table often to present dishes is a very nice aspect. You can see they love their jobs and perform with great passion. All the dishes we got were of very nice quality. The few remarks I have:
- the portion of meat on my main dish was disappointingly small
- the kitchen help came over shy (looking very neutral and never smiling) and displayed some impolite manners sometimes (saying nothing back when you help her with cleaning the table/picking up plates). I'm sure this is due to her lack of experience and this issue will be solved over the years.
- the chef was wearing wristbands from festivals which are, as we all know, not hygienic when working with food.
Overall a definite recommend! I would go back

Just out of Hasselt you will find this restaurant. Advantage is the free parking place. The interior is cosy, a little dark, service is friendly.
As thsi restaurant has a reputation serving steaks, we ordered different steaks. Meat is perfect, sidedishes a little disappointing. Prices are not sheap starting at 32 Euro.
We had housewine wich was tastefull.

We were there to celebrate my mother on her birthday, the restaurant was pretty new (last year or two years ago, I don't remember exactly)they were pretty strange, very impersonal, obviously deranged by the fact that aside the aperitifs we didn't orders wine or other alcohol with our meals. We were 3 adults and 2 children, it was a strange combination of meals that we could order with this party. I don't think that I'm willing to go there soon. At the end they even charged something that we didn't order.
