Introduced to us by friends who live in the area. Host/chef is quite a character and the food is unique and tasty. Across three visits his suggestions have never let us down. Suggest exploring more unusual dishes as most restaurants are similar in the area. Seasonal chestnut pasta is superb.

The pizza was terrible. Do not order pizza here. It tasted like refrigerator dough (did not taste completly done) with red sauce poured on it with no flavoring or spice at all. The prosciutto looked and tasted like bad deli lunch meat laid in slabs on top of the tasteless red sauce. The others in our party had pasta and they said it was not too bad. The service was incredibly slow. The evening got worse when we were finished eating and trying to pay our bill, (we sat for 15+ after asking for our bill) trying to get the servers attention so we could pay. The restaurant was nearly empty and our server engaged in a 20+ minute conversation with a friend that showed up and totally ignored the remaining customers.

Creating a cooking philosophy cannot be done in a short time. Susanna and Fabrizio to build their culinary definition started off from family tradition; thereafter their aim partially changed reaching a new balance between tradition and innovation. Of primary importance for them are a continued research for quality and the bond with the territory, without neglecting creativity The dream was "to open a restaurant where to go with pleasure to eat": thus a corporate executive - Fabrizio, and the manger of the family farm - Susanna, both with a passion for good food, turned into "a host and a chef" . The opportunity presented itself with the visit to the property that shortly after would have become, the home of "The Goccino" restaurant: a love at first sight, for the special environments that characterized it and the superb Terrace overlooking the Val di Chiana. The business started off as a wine bar, to turn during the first few years into a charming restaurant. It began with Tuscan f
We have nothing but praise for this terrific female run restaurant. The atmosphere is great, service charming & the food some of the best we've eaten this holiday. Perfect silky ravioli, an intense tomato soup with basil sorbet; a standout main of stuffed quail with berries plus the most tender lamb. The dramatic star of the meal, a chocolate bomb containing ice-cream over which hot strawberry sauce is poured to partially melt the chocolate - the sight & taste of which will linger long in the memory. The wine list has a range to cater for all budgets including some big ticket vintages with prices to match. For the quality, this place is unbelievablely good value; we would happily have paid more for such an experience. Highly recommended, booking advised.

My wife and I asked Stefano for his recommendation and we weren't disappointed! Started us off with a beautiful homemade pasta, then Osso bucco, bacala and finally a delectable chocolate cream type desert! All these paired with wines along the way. Service very respectful, courteous and timely! All this for €55 total! What a deal❤️

All looked very promising - appetising menu (seen as we entered), beautiful upstairs Terrace overlooking parts of the town, and a bustling restuarant. Perhaps that was the problem. Having been shown to a lovely table on the lovely Terrace we never saw the staff again - not offered any drinks, bread, olives; nothing. When, after the best part of half an hour, a waitress appeared at another table to take orders from a large party who had also been waiting we decided it would take forever for the kitchen to deal with that party, and therefore even longer (can anything be longer than forever) for us to be served. We duly departed so cannot comment on food (except it looked a little pricey).

We had a big family visit - 9 of us including a baby and a toddler. The staff were extremely helpful getting us all seated. The food was very good and we would especially recommend the steak and the strips of beef.

This restaurant is a bit off the regular tourist trip paths, but the food was phenomenal! Apparently, the little Italian grandmother makes the desserts and she was tickled when she came out and we applauded her cooking! We had steak that was to die for and the rest of the food was great and their was good choices for wine. Nice family atmosphere!

This place is really a refreshing gem in a city with such traditional restaurants! The decor was very modern but with a 60/70s flair to it, with mismatched tables and concrete walls. It was a great setting to be eating in. We had a delicious Chianti wine, and for food, everyone at the table was super happy with what they got. I had such a innovative take on the traditional Caesar salad inside a "Parmesan taco" to start, then a delicious filled pasta as a first and tasty beef as my main. Innovative take on traditional Italian cuisine that you could tell took lots of dedication to perfect!

We stayed in Lucignano for several nights and this become pretty much our local. 100m from where we stayed so it was convenient for us. Its terraced over looking the valley so its popular with lunch. Dinner times are less busy we found. Every time we went there it was the same two ladies and the cook. They hard working but always put on a smile and try their best with language, awesome people. The menu is small, in italian and the helpings are sufficient and very tasty. Highly recommended if you in the Lucignano area.
