This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the former capital of Laos, and you'll see everything from golden-roofed temples to vestiges of colonial French architecture here. Buddhist monasteries abound in Luang Prabang, and early every morning, monks process through the streets collecting alms (their food for the day). If you want to watch or participate, though, ask your hotel for a brief etiquette lesson first—you have to distribute the food in a specific manner.

Ordered the veg yellow curry (one of the best I’ve tasted) with fresh bamboo shoots, Lao eggplant and cucumber. Fresh and spicy and fantastic. Dessert was also tremendous- tea infused pear with a coconut and pumpkin parfait. Interesting flavours and very moorish. Service was pretty...MoreDear TravellerWilberyess, Thanks so much for your review, I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed the food so much and I'll pass on your comments my whole team. Rosella Fusion Restaurant is a friendly, family owned restaurant in the centre of Luang Prabang. Customers enjoy meals on our wooden Terrace overlooking the beautiful Nam Khan river. The cuisine is a mixture of Lao and Western and is crafted by our Australian qualified Lao chef. It's a great place for lunch and dinner as well as a relaxing afternoon, watching local life on the riverbank, and a well priced evening cocktail.
We ate here 2 nights. We sat outdoors on a balcony overlooking the Khan River. You can also dine indoors across the road. The view over the river is quite romantic and no problem with insects. Menu is quite extensive with Laotian food and western food with very reasonable prices. It is in a very quiet area with seldom horn tooting. Location is only 1 block down hill from the main tourist street. Great value.

Cafe Toui serves magically simple Lao food, prepared to order by Chef Toui. Because of the super abundance of vegetables from surrounding farms and in our local markets, we can offer many interesting vegetarian choices as well as traditional dishes with fish, pork and duck, etc. All with Toui's amazing flavors. We bend a bit from Lao tradition for special desserts. We serve cocktails, beers and some wine.
This was without doubt the best meal we had during our 6 days overall in Luang Prabang.
The service was very good, plates were of generous proportions and the food was delicious - we asked for it to be medium spicey with extra chilli!
And, we thought, very reasonably priced.
This was our last night in LP and the only disappointment was that we hadn't eaten here before.
I think they also do rooms.

Walked past this place every evening in Luang Prabang, and consistently packed. One afternoon decided to give it a try for lunch. Fun, French/Indochina vibe/decor. With a menu to match. Really good, and very enjoyable. Wish we had time to go back at night for dinner. Or even for drinks. Highly recommend!

Joys is like asking your mom to cook you something and she goes to the kitchen and makes it for you. Then your brother brings it to you and it is great. I had the chicken pad thai and it was quite different. Less peanut and way more vegetables. My favorite of my entire trip. I highly recommend you visit and meet her. Also go inside to see her husbands pictures of Laos

Tuesday to Sunday 5PM to 10PM -- Closed On Mondays -- Take a bicycle over the Old Bridge and turn left at the next road. Ride two minutes to the corner with the temple and turn right. You will see a small white pizza sign. We are in the back yard behind Emerson English Center. Or walk over the Bamboo Bridge which operates from be up until June. If you are a group please call ahead to make a reservation. Bring an umbrella.
Simply put, the pizza here is great.
I haven’t tried others but it has to be one of, if not THE, best pizza in Luang Prabang.
The restaurant is tucked across the bamboo bridge and you keep walking straight until you see a sign for pizza. Furthermore you have to follow the flame lantern lit path behind the “English School” to find the actual restaurant.
It’s hidden in a quiet back yard surrounded by trees and lit with candles. It’s really quiet romantic.
The staff speak English well, especially the Caucasian guy. They’re really helpful.
We got 4 pizzas for 4 adults and 3 children (10, 7, and 5) and it was just the right amount of food.
Excellent place. You should check it out.

njoy a hearty, delicious and healthy Korean food with a family like welcome. Main dishes all include unlimited water, rice, and 8 side dishes. Having living here for 6 years, I would be happy to share valuable information on traveling around Luang Prabang. Vegan options(Bibimbap, stir-fried mushroom, etc.) are available, too!
We ordered the mushroom hot pot and it was amazing. You get so much food that it's nearly impossible to finish it and then you also get free fruits and sweet tea for dessert. We really enjoyed our meal here.

My wife saw someone eating from a charcuterie platter in our travels in Luang Prabang and decided the other night that she wanted one that night for dinner.
After some google and TripAdvisor searching we decided Chez Matt was the place to go.
The wine was good and the charcuterie was excellent.
I liked the casual wine bar atmosphere.
The staff were good. There was one server who spoke excellent English and another who didn’t. The one who didn’t would just smile when we said something to him and then he’d run off his coworker to talk to us.
It was a fairly expensive splurge for us but we enjoyed our meal a lot.
