I don't see reviews for any of Los Barriles' many restaurants or the local attractions for that matter. I live here and would be glad to provide more information about this great little town if you are interested.<br>[email protected]
Our tacos tour of Baja California Sud took us to Los Barriles yesterday where after a walk on the beach and and a swim we went in search of El Viejo. It was early afternoon and the place was busy but not so much that we couldn’t find a table for four. A friendly waitress approached us with menus. We all ordered two tacos ‘a la plancha’ (on the grill) - one fish, the other shrimp - and I have to say they were excellent, with a special nod going to the shrimp. Afterwards we browsed in the shop next door and enjoyed the casual ambiance of this friendly, laid-back community with its ATVs and bicycles.

They're good but you can't eat every meal at El Viejo. Allow me to add a couple reviews of other restaurants in Los Barriles. I've lived here for 8 years and I like to eat, so I know.
So this little gem is a little hard to locate, but worth it!!! great food and service, their homemade lemonade is killer. I had asked for a traditional locals dish, looked like enchiladas, really great flavor. Find Maria's, you will enjoy it for sure...................

Best Restaruant in Los Barriles.
We came for dinner our first night and we were the only ones there. 5-6 young servers dinking around, finally got drinks ordered and then another 20 minutes for food order to be taken. Came out slow, no one came back to check on us often, and they were tossing around plates and balancing trays for fun. Was just disappointing, beautiful location and the food was great once we got it, but they need to train the younger boys on serving!

Located next door to the Los Barriles Hotel. If there are addresses I didn't see any. Listed in the Baja Pony Express.
For being the busiest Bar/Restaurant in town it is very disappointing. The food, and service are so inconsistent which could be improved with better management.
They have probably the most disgusting/dirty bathrooms. Great place to stop for a cold beer once in a while but the more you visit all the above come into play. New ownership would be a place to start.

We went with another couple on a Saturday night. We ordered drinks, which came promptly, and dinner ordered shortly thereafter. Dinner came quite quickly. Two ordered fish of the day, dorado, and said it was excellent. Other two order fried shrimp and it was fresh and crispy fried. Veggie and fries as sides. Great meal!

Welcome to our page and thank you for visiting! Check in daily to see our special for the day and what deliciuos little goodies are being baked up in the bakery. If you have not been inside, alot of people do not know we are a 50's style diner. Yes leather booths, swivel bar chairs and all. So if you have not come inside, come in and have a look! After your breakfast or lunch, don't forget to come on in to see what fresh cookies, loafs of bread, or cinnamon rolls we have to acompany your evening Sweet tooth! Also doing fine gormet chocolates. Yummie!
I walked up to this place alone twice while my husband was out fishing. I was happy to find a place that served espresso. I was also happy to see a menu on a large banner in English. The first time I was disappointed that they didn't have scones. I was told that it wasn't busy enough for them to bake every day. When I went back the next day they did have scones and I enjoyed one along with my latte. The third time I went there was with my husband and we had a nice breakfast. They have a lot of choices. There is a large covered outdoor Seating area which is where I sat all three times. There is also indoor Seating. It was my favorite place to go during the 6 days we spent there.

I think I found the best prime rib in Mexico here.
Generous portion, not to spendy and very tender and tasty.
Had several different meals here and they were all good.
Good service, moderately priced food for Baja and nice atmosphere.
Place is easy to find right in town.

We brought our catch of the day by and they gave us several options for cooking. My garlic sauteed fish was wonderful as were the accompanying bean, rice, and salsa! Excellent!

Quaint little cafe, with inside Seating or sidewalk tables for enjoying your meal outside. It had been a couple of years since visiting Los Barriles but like all good things, Calebs food and service was as expected (remembered). I've never had anything but breakfast there, but as good as breakfast is I cant imagine that other meals are excellent too. It may be a while, but we'll be visiting Calebs again.

El pirata (the Pirate) is like a hole in the wall, without the walls. Everything is cooked to order on the Mesquite fire right by the tables. The seafood is so fresh, it's practically wriggling when it goes on the grill. The proprietor is pretty gruff, but if try a couple of Spanish phrases, he warms up. The place looks like a common taco stand, but the food belies some serious culinary expertise. Do NOT expect fancy! It's simple, plastic tables and chairs. But the food is fantastic.
