The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

We have dined at this restaurants many times over the past 8 years and the service and quality of food has always been consistently excellent.
The tasting menu with the wine pairings is always put together well and the service staff have a good level of knowledge about the menu and the dishes. The sommelier is also great and is able to recommend the exact kind of wine you are looking for.
I will certainly keep on returning.

Keep going back because the food is great and the staff are very friendly. Mixture of locals and those traveling further afield. Would recommend the Ratatouille, chorizo, prawns in garlic, and the portions are very generous.

We had the omakase. The seafood is fresh and good quality. Preparation of the sushi and sashimi is meticulous and really is an art. Favourites are the mackerel, fatty tuna nigiri (looks like otoro), and the fatty tuna hand roll. The rice used in the sushi is amazing. I could eat a big bowl of the rice just on it's own. Owner is really friendly and give good advice about the food and drinks. Love the sake as well. All in all a very good experience. Don't let the booking process deter you. If you are flexible with dates and can persevere with the calls to the booking line, you'll have a great meal and experience.
Caution: other sushi and sashimi may not live up to your standards once you try a good edomae sushi.

Superfast, Roman-style, thin crust pizza - made fresh to order from £3.95 Seating inside and outside
Really nice crispy thin pizza and good atmosphere. Not too expensive, good for a week night dinner. Quite a few veggie options.

Fantastic traditional chippy! The batter on the cod was perfect, not too greasy but not too light. The fish was very tasty and fresh. The chips themselves were of fantastic quality. Quite often chippies will let the chips stand stand in reused oil for extended periods in order not to waste potatoes, but these chips were clearly fresh, cooked in fresh oil. This is every bit as good as Harry Ramsdens, if not better and the prices here are a fraction of what you would pay at HRs. I am glad I dont live in Greenwich, because I would get very fat if this place was on my doorstep!!!! Would 100% recommend to anybody for a really authentic, traditional and tasty meal!

Jiro may dream of sushi, but I dream of Daphne! Restaurants like this elevate cities. Ultimately, after a day spent soldiering through traffic from Heathrow or City Airport or fighting the crowds, there is always this hidden gem. Spend sometime in the Greek or Cypriot sections of Camden or ask their neighbors and everyone knows Daphne and rightly so-fantastic food, caring service, reasonable prices and the best of company. With a scant 24 seats, Reservations are often required even on weekdays, but come before 7:30 or after 9:45 and you are more likely to succeed as a walk-in.
I’ve previously written an in-depth review but during the holiday season and into January I got to try some of their new winter dishes as well as bringing more friends and getting their feedback, so a new review for 2018!
At Daphne there is the traditional menu and then a seasonal board of specials, which under goes minor changes every few weeks and major changes every few months. The traditional mezze are deceptively simple yet densely flavored. The incredibly creamy tirokafteri (yogurt, feta, and spicy pepper dip) or the skordalia (garlic puree with fried eggplant) are delightful. The winter menu featured a hearty white bean and vegetable stew (fasolada), which was heavenly. A friend dinning with me from Italy said a similar dish is served there but she preferred Daphne.
There are numerous vegan and vegetarian options. They are so well-prepared and flavorful that herbivores will never feel left out. An honorable mention here to the black-eyed bean and spinach dish. I certainly skew towards the carnivore-centric side of the menu, yet the most memorable dishes were the veggies; they were simply exquisite.
But this is Greek-Cypriot food so be prepared for meat, potatoes, feta, moussaka, kleftifo (lamb joint), etc. and don’t worry, the succulent selection of meat grilled over a charcoal flame is fantastic. Those preferring meat cooked slowly and left to braise, stew, or roast will find beef and lamb, which fall apart on your fork and melt long before they ever reach your mouth.
This is one of the few restaurants where I trust the chef and the Waitstaff completely, because I know I will never have a bad dish.
All of this wonderful food is presented in one of the most welcoming, charming, and friendly environments, in which I have eaten. Whether you are a local or not, you will find no less warmth or enthusiasm for your patronage, during your visit to Daphne. Young, old, local, foreign visitor, tourist, or aficionado, they all love Daphne. I know because I arrived as a stranger but left as a friend. During two visits in January 2018 I witnessed two events, which beautifully summarize the service at Daphne. First, A group of Japanese tourists arrived. It took some time to translate the menu from Greek to English to Japanese and make sure that everyone got their preferred order. I saw the owner with a big smile on his face. When I inquired why he was so joyful, he told me how excited he was when people come from great distances to eat in the restaurant. On another occasion, the restaurant was quickly filling to capacity and a group of four arrived without a reservation. Eventually, they had to be turned away as every table was filled. I later saw the owner deep in thought. When I asked what he was thinking about, he said he wondered if he could’ve rearranged all the tables in the restaurant to accommodate the walk-ins. He said that after thinking about it for a long time he was sure there was no way to move the tables. This is the level of care that goes into the service at Daphne.
Daphne does everything we ask of a restaurant. It is an adventure and a destination, a frontier and a safe harbor. It is independently owned, locally run, incorporates seasonal ingredients, and welcomes diners of all tastes, backgrounds, and persuasions. It is friendly, unpretentious, and proud. Well it should be. If this is the kind of place that appeals to you, seek it out, And leave the stuffy, arrogant eateries of Park Lane, Berkeley Square, or Chelsea behind! Happy traveling!

The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton opened in February 2014 as the third restaurant operated by The Clink Charity in the UK and offers up to 30 prisoners full-time work within the restaurant and kitchen. Prisoners train towards gaining nationally recognised City & Guilds NVQs before returning to their cells at the end of the working day. Upon their release, The Clink Charity helps graduates find employment within the catering and hospitality industry. The restaurant is a flagship example of a unique charitable project that is committed to reducing reoffending rates, in partnership with HMPS. The restaurant positively promotes the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners and also champions the wealth of quality, fresh and organic produce available throughout the UK with many vegetables and herbs being sourced from the prison Gardens. The restaurant is located in the former Governor's house built in 1819, the 120-cover restaurant is available for exclusive hire. Breakfast is served from Monday to Friday between 8:15am and 10:30am, and lunch is served from Monday to Friday between 12pm and 3pm. This must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Available for exclusive hire, The Clink Restaurant boasts 5 private dining rooms that offers projector and AV facilities making it perfect for meetings, conferences and presentations.
The gourmet dinner on Thursdays is difficult to book but it is well worth persevering. Indeed accepting that the philosophy of what the prison is trying to achieve is 5 star, the experience and food itself also merits a similar rating. The restaurant is within the prison wall so there is lots of security. Interestingly there seems to be loads of parking if you follow the perimeter road to and past the restaurant reception security hut. You can pay by card but it is also a good idea to take some cash so that a donation to the charity can be made at the end of the meal. Tips are not allowed. In fact there is a large list of items that you have to leave in locked boxes including tissues, mobile phones and cameras. The dining room itself is bright but not really romantic. No alcohol is served and the Mocktail included in the fixed price menu was rather sweet. An amuse bouche consisted of 2 flavoured meat balls and set the scene for large portions. The serving staff introduce themselves and there is a varied menu. The potato croquet started, although sounding ordinary, was exceptional and beautifully presented with a small salad. Main course of pork fillet in ham was cooked well and beautifully lean, again with a variety of vegetables including celeriac. Custard tart dessert was one of the best I had tasted and nothing like what might be anticipated. As if all that was not enough coffee and simple pastries were served to finish the meal. Our waiter chatted away to us to break the ice and we did not feel rushed. After dinner there is opportunity to buy Clink memorabilia but no pressure. The exit procedure is also security conscious but fortunately fairly quick. The fixed price is approximately £40 for dinner and represents good value considering the quality of the meal. In all a great evening experience.

We booked the previous night as Lentil always seemed busy on our walks between our hotel and Tube. Glad we did as it was busy again. Lovely food. Very good use of herbs and spices. Nice atmosphere. Lots of local people in. Staff lovely. Good value for money.

Temporary closed from the 31st of July untill the 14th of august.

Established in 2016. The Liman Restaurant means port in the Turkish language, however the restaurant opens its doors to all aspects of the mediterranean kitchen. The kitchen will be mostly focused on Mediterranean food; the owners of the restaurant are young professional chefs who can bring new, exciting tastes to Angel, Islington which will show trough in the quality of food they prepare.
I met a friend here for dinner and was pretty excited as it was my first time, and he had mentioned that the restaurant was currently ranked 4th on Tripadviser on the list of best restaurants in London. The restaurant isn’t the biggest on the inside, but has a nice cosy feel to it. To start off with, we were given some complimentary Turkish bread along with some mint source – as is traditional in Turkish restaurants. I then ordered some Hummos as a starter – which was on the disappointing side – just not good Hummos. I would definitely suggest avoiding. For my main I ordered the Adana Kebab, which was served with brown rice and some salad. Now this is what I mean by average food, the kebabs were extremely bland – and had nothing unique about them in terms of flavour or texture. Given my poor experience with the starter and main – I decided to skip dessert.

This is an Iranian run cafe with amazing cakes and lovely coffee, tea and chocolate. It's just that bit different from the run of the mill places. They also do salads and breakfasts (we were there Sunday lunchtime) but these items are on a different menu from the drinks so I don't know what they make. Our pistachio and apricot cake was delicious and the small purple carrot cakes looked interesting. Very small place crammed with tables and some outside tables took the overflow. Very popular.
