The Anchor Inn Hotel is located in downtown Little Current on Manitoulin Island, Ontario Canada. The Hotel offers a great restaurant, lively bar, room, and nice inexpensive rooms and kitchenettes. We are located across from the re-developed waterfront and municipal marina, and also have a cool street-side patio and two streaming web-cams.
Had dinner last night, ordered a hamburger, the waitress asked if we would like mashed potato or fries with it, we chose mashed potatoes when we finished our meal and received our bill I noticed an extra charge called "make platter", I inquired as to what that was and was told that it was an extra 6$ for the Mash potato or Fries.
At the bottom of the menu in small letters it talks about the "make platter", but I think people should be made aware of the extra charge because the way the waitress asked you would assume it would be included!! Not impressed.

A little dessert and snack shop on Manitoulin Island
We first went to the 3 cows chip stand next to the main building since we were hungry for fries...they were delicious...well cooked and crispy, just like I like them. After we crossed over to 3 Cows and had ice cream cones...salty caramel truffle and pralines and cream..yum..very clean which is always appreciated..we'll be back. :)

I have been here every time I have come to the island this summer (about 6 times). Always get this yummy latte. Slightly pricey... But no more than Starbucks and at least this is a local business. They are pretty busy in there but manage to get the food and drink out quick. Last time I went I ordered food for the first time. I can't remember the name of the Sandwich but it had cranberry, Turkey, stuffing. Omg soo good. I was very happy with my food choice. The only complaint I have about this place is that the staff habe never been overt friendly. The last time I went they were pleasant. But one time I went with my parents and the two middle aged ladies that were serving us were actually kind of snobby. My dad said he would never go back. This was unfortunate because I like this place and was excited to bring my parents in there. I figure the attitude is because they are so busy... But they should still be friendly to their customers.
We offer a variety of satisfying pub style menu options with hearty and light healthy options for people of all ages. We cater to families and seniors who love to enjoy a cozy atmosphere with friendly people and great prices. Those who like to make a event out of their golf day love the fact that they don't have to leave the premises to find a great meal. Open to the public. Come check us out!!

Had their fish and chips - excellent. We often drive 2 hours from the cottage to go to Herbert Fisheries ( Mr Perch) in Killarney for fish & chips. I have to say these are every bit as good, if not better. Good value, too. Several picnic tables out front to enjoy your meal, or you can drive 5 minutes down to Low Island and eat in the waterfront park beside the North Channel.

We had the pleasure of eating at The Trough in Little Current when visiting Manitoulin Island this summer. Located adjacent to Manitoulin Brewing Company, this food truck has the added option of outdoor Seating at the Manitoulin Brewing Company's bar. So you can get some amazing BBQ or burgers and have a cold Swing Bridge Blonde to wash it all down. The food was outstanding. We are from Columbus, Ohio, which is a thriving foodie mecca and The Trough rivaled (maybe even surpassed) some of the best food trucks we have at home. Everything is made to order and the BBQ and burgers and house-made fries were delicious. One thing that was a little odd is that the brewery's hours close earlier than The Trough's hours. So if you get there late, you won't be able to enjoy the swanky patio and a cold beer. The Trough does have its own picnic tables and to-go service; however, the best experience is to be able to get your food at The Trough and a cold locally made beer from Manitoulin Brewing Company. Hoping that next summer they work out this little kink in operations. Luckily, we got there in time to enjoy and cold one AND an amazing Sandwich.
