Simple but perfect good taste; well prepared, juicy and delicious. Good house red wine and fair prices. Well recommended.

Make a reservation, otherwise you may be disappointed. Beautiful traditional building, amazingly decorated, inside is fantastic in winter, and outside just as great in summer. I have been here several times and had some sensational meals, the blood sausage is amazing, the trio of Deserts divine, and amarena cherries! Presentation and food quality is high and often with seasonal variation. Sizing is large and at the end of the day, the pricing is quite reasonable. So when I think of Germanic fare, my food memories of the North Rhine-Westphalia mainly drift back to this restaurant.

Booking essential here if you are a large group. Rather noisy too (because of people chatting), but worth it because of the great range of tapas - with fish (perch, sole, octupus) , meat (lamb, rabbit, chicken etc.) & also a lot of vegetarian dishes, and cheese options and of course the ususal bread + arioli dip and potatoes with a hot sauce (if desired). You order by writing the tapas numbers on slates which go to the kitchen, which has the advantage of seeing what everyone else on your table is ordering and then chosing something different. The portions are just right, a woman would probably order 3 , a man 5 tapas, the price ranges from 5-7 Euros on average so you can afford to try something unusual (snails, for instance !) the vegetables were noticeably fresh and the small range of desserts should not dissapoint the sweet tooth. Service was sometimes prompt, sometimes slow, the staff were jovial. Good for an evening out with friends.

This sophisticated restaurant is housed in a historical building and is truly a gem in downtown Lippstadt. Thinly-sliced beef carpaccio is to die for, and their fish dishes are amazingly tasteful. Panna cotta is served with fresh fruits and very satisfyingly creamy.

While visiting Lippstadt on our tour round Germany we came across this restaurant. We were pleased to find it busy, which was a good sign, with a friendly greeting. Very pleasant surroundings and well laid out. Our food was, to say the least, excellent, well presented and fresh. A salad was offered free with our meals, which was also fresh and well kept in a cool server. The prices were very reasonable for the high standard of food we had. Highly recommended place to eat in Lippstadt.

We spent a couple of hours here for breakfast. We didn't make use of the buffet (although it looked really yummy, considering the attractive price), but had little nibbles and coffee specialties. Everything was just right, and service was swift and friendly. Definitely a prime location to enjoy Lippstadt's pretty town square!

We had a dinner, my wife, 2 friends and me in June, in the beergarden of this restaurant. Very good atmosphere and excellent food & service, also very good value for money. Very much pleasant location, thank you for this great time.

I was hungry, very hungry. I've passed this joint on my way to the morning meeting and I wanted to try it out after the working day was over. So, I went there and unfortunately I had to remember all the German restaurant words I've learnt in school two decades ago.
Inside was delightful German style biergarten. Older gentleman who was my waiter show me to a nice booth to have all the privacy. Nice.
Then came the order time and all the words just came to my mind and I ordered nice Camembert cheese dish for starters and then for main course steak - in the menu this was the house steak or "haus steak". And of course Weisen beer to drink.
After I finished my starters my waiter indicated to go to salad bar station for more salad so I did.
Dishes were good and plentiful and for dessert my waiter offered a schnapps for free. Nice.
Only thing that really didn't feel like part of the restaurant was their cheesy choice of background music - bad dance music from 80s and 90s since I was really expecting German music.
Anyway treat yourself with authentic German food in Zum Anker.
And after I got out I was no longer hungry. Not at all.

Wanting to remember my holiday in Greece, so I landed at Imbiss Rhodos to check out their menu. Got myself a delicious gyros with pita, really intense flavours. The owners were very nice people, helping me to find points of interests on my map of Lippstadt. It was a nice experience, I'll visit the place again, surely.

The service was quite slow to start with but picked up. Varied menu with some dishes better priced than others. Nice atmosphere outside
