who finds the interior of the restaurant rather cold and uninspiring? I know that's not why most people go to eateries - and yes the food was excellent, especially the delicious lobster starter! Nothing else to fault; the waitress was efficient and friendly, the wait for ordering and being served, great. It's just I felt you could could do so much with that space already having revealed and carefully pointed stone walls and good quality stone flooring.
Why the harsh lighting and no softness, off the shelf art and no flowers. Add in some better lighting, candles and art-works that tell of the region/town/wine-growing, whatever, and the atmosphere would be so much better.

Two dining options but the same commitment to a flavourful food, made of fresh, seasonal and mostly local products : - FINE DINING with menus from € 32.00 (Tuesdays to Saturdays 7.30pm -9 pm) - BRASSERIE with menus from € 21 (Mondays to Fridays for lunch)
This is the best place in Limoux for lunch, in my view. Although more expensive than the restaurants on the main square, the food is beautifully presented and generally very good indeed. What brings it down? Two things - one is the very surly waiter, whose manner is a complete contrast to all the other staff and the other is the cheeky pricing policy of the menu, which contains several items with a 'supplément', often quite a hefty one.

it's a haven for vegetarians..... with restricted opening hours outwith Summer season. A beautiful set menu, delicious flavours & a lovely wine to compliment it. We had 4 courses, each one delicious...my limited French vocabulary ran out of superlatives!

We eat at lunchtime and chose the three course 16,99€ menu.
The interior has a fairly typical Vietnamese / Chinese restaurant theme and is very pleasant.
Tables are well spaced.
The waitress was very friendly, charming and efficient.
The Assiette Gourmand starter consists of crab claws, nems spring rolls etc. A lovely starter with lots of different tastes.
The main course of 'laquered duck' was absoloutely gorgeous. Beautifully cooked and a good portion size too.
I finished off with lychees and my wife had the cooked banana.
To drink, we chose a half litre of the house wine, which was nice.
A lovely meal; to be repeated!!

Bar snack brasserie
We were desperate for somewhere cosy-looking on a rather miserable evening, but didn't' want a high-end meal. In any case a lot of places are closed on Mondays. This place fitted the bill. We both had the Cochon Noir which was very tender and succulent, albeit a bit rich when served with a mountain of chips!

I was surprised that the staff asked me how I would like the meat cooked in my burger.
Rare, sangnant, bien cuit. Sangnant, for me, please.
How refreshing that they chose to treat this dish with the same respect as they would a steak dish.
Thank you

Le Concept restaurant is on the main square in Limoux.
Lots of tables outside and a very modern decor and feel inside.
Prompt, attentive and friendly service from the waitress.
We ordered 3 of the really really good Cassoulet, which apart from the beans in sauce had a ducks leg sliced sausage and lardons, oddly tastes better than it sounds.'
We also had an omelette to jugs of local red wine a glass of fizz and a bottle of sparkling water... Tap water and loads of bread were free.
In total this came to €94.00.

The low Euro rate makes food expensive.

The food the surroundings, ambiance and the service at this beautiful restaurant are just amazing. The food was fresh and beautifully prepared. The portion sizes were fantastic and the 'digestif' serve after each course was very welcome and also included in the set menu price. I won't list all the food that was served, but just to say the gazpatco and foie gras were out of this world. Thank you Eric and Cecline. If I could give you 10 stars I would. If you are in the area, you really must go.

The best thing about the restaurant is that it has a nice position in the square. We ordered drinks, starters and main courses. Although it was only half full the service was awful. After twenty-five minutes we still hadn't got our drinks and we had to get up and ask several times - they had completely forgotten us. When finally, after lots of reminders, someone brought the food it was the main course. They apologised for forgetting the starters! The main course had obviously been cooked some time before and was stone cold. We were so fed up by then we decided to get the bill and leave. To add insult to injury they tried to charge us for the starters which had never arrived! Needless to say we won't be returning.
