Ostia (/ˈɒstiə/) is a large neighbourhood in the X Municipio of the commune of Rome, Italy, near the ancient port of Rome, named Ostia, which is now a major archaeological site known as Ostia Antica. Ostia (also called Ostia Lido or Lido di Roma or Lido di Ostia) is also the only municipio or district of Rome on the Tyrrhenian Sea and many Romans spend the summer holidays there. With about 85,000 inhabitants, Ostia is the first or second-most populated frazione of Italy, depending on whether Mestre is counted.

If you were to rate a restaurant by the peak level decibels this place would be tops. A favorite place to meet in the evenings, it is a loud family atmosphere that reflects the joy of eating and the excellent pizza. There is an extra charge for the buffalo milk mozzarella, but make sure to try it. It is not meant to describe north American buffalo or bison, but rather the long horn cows raised in the region of Naples. The milk has a distinctive taste and so the cheese. You have not tasted Italian pizza if you have not had the "mozzarella di bufala". As an appetizer ma sure to order a supplí (fried rice balls with cheese an tomato filling) or the baccala (fried cod in batter). Enjoy.

Senza ricevuta naturalmente...

When you find something truly worthwhile, to be selfish and hide it is so desirable.
Why would I want to make it more difficult for myself to get a reservation and enjoy some of the best pizza that I've had in Rome?
I mean, last time, the Indian eatery next store was kind enough to let us eat inside their place as long as we bought their drinks...that's how crowded it was.
So why share? Because everyone should have a chance to enjoy this pizza.
It is a little out of the way...near Ostia (I am north of the city) but if you can make it, taste true italian pizza in an Italian neighborhood.
Enjoy

I decided to come here because of the reviews but I was very disappointed!
First the waitresses!!!! Three of them and none able to answer you if you call. Too busy chatting!!
The beers they offer are average and overpriced. I had pistachios and nachos as snack! The worst nachos ever!! They splashed a couple of sottilette cheese on top of crumbled nachos. For two medium and two small beers and those fantastic nachos and pistachios I paid €29!!! Never again!!

Pizzas are very good and cheap! Warm welcome, good service. Out of the touristic places, lots of locals going there. We haven't tried anythining else than pizzas, but the rest looked very good too!

Nestled amongst the marina, this excellent upscale restaurant hosted our Overseas Adventure Travel on our last night in Italy, escorted by Gaia the Super Guide (depicted in accompanying photo). I was pleased that our group was positioned in a corner with glass walls providing incredible views of the marina & Mediterranean. Our group was welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine, and a pre-selected array of starters arrived shortly after we were seated—steamed mussels, I recall. Multiple courses followed, each succulent. Since the tour company included this farewell dinner, I can’t speak of price as I didn’t peruse a menu. Everything I had, however, was excellent. Superior service by friendly staff enhances the dining experience.
Although this is promoted as a seafood restaurant, there are other items not of the fishy kind. Two group members had seafood allergies and they were assured that their meals were prepared with utensils not used for water creatures. Overall, this was an excellent choice to end perhaps the most enjoyable and educational tour I’ve experienced. If only there was a RIZ Café in Orlando☺

The interior is completely renovated, have been entrusted to interior design established, who have made a sober and elegant, comfort is safeguarded by a large internal luminosity natural, offered by large windows during the day, and a lighting warm evening . The harmony of colors that decorate the environment, are characterized by a tenor kind and consistent whole. The restaurant consists of a room that can accommodate about 50 guests, offering a harmonious atmosphere, modern and refined, perfectly in line with the innovative cuisine, performed on the basis of the traditional gastronomy. A window in the room, looks like an aquarium in the kitchen, where you have the chance to see the chefs and their staff work. The kitchen, directed and guided by Chef Marco Lategano and Giorgia Quattrone, revisits the dishes of traditional cuisine and also Roman, presenting them in a contemporary key, combining flavors and playing on contrasts. At the same time, satisfies the palate traditional for lovers of gourmet meat and fresh fish. Particular attention is focused on a specific menu for vegetarians only. Special attention is also paid to the spirits where we include: Island Single Malts Scotch whiskey barrels or Rum and Spirits of the best brands.
I visited this restaurant with my partner in early May. The front of house team were a joy, being incredibly nice and even apologising for not speaking English... when there is nothing to apologise about.
The menu is all in Italian - although this meant we had to make full use of google translate it is nice to get a change from the touristy Rome where everything is in English.
We had prawns wrapped in thin pasta for pre-starter, followed by the Amatriciana and also the pumpkin, crayfish and squid ink tortellini.
The prawns were very tasty, and the only bad thing about the three mayonnaises was that there was not enough of them. The tortellini was excellent, but the Amatriciana was on a different level. I felt that it was the best pasta dish I personally have had in Italy.
Following these, we had the cod and also the tuna in pistachio crumb with samphire. Again, the cod was nice, but the tuna led the way. The tuna was perfectly cooked and there was a good amount of it too. The pistachio surprisingly worked very well.
Following, we had the chocolate pudding and the pistachio tiramisu. This time my partner claimed that it was the best tiramisu she had had in Rome - this was her fourth.
Overall, high praise indeed. We loved the waiter who was very friendly and attentive, and for both of us it was the best meal we had in our 5 days in Rome. I would certainly recommend and we will be returning I am sure.

I found this restaurant on TA. I was in Ostia for my school's exams. The food was excellent. I took the "Tagliolini con vongole". The dish was so good and also the presentation. Excellent food's quality. I liked this restaurant and I suggest you to go!

Small, cozy spot, good lighting, music. Attentive, knowledgeable service that compliments the chefs creative cuisine. Influences from throughout Italy and the world. Each dish is well thought out and presented. Well curated wine list. This is the kind of gem you wish you had in your home town.

My review is overdue but as I had a great dining experience, I decided to write a review. I found this restaurant through tripadvisor and it was worth the visit. The food is amazing, the owners and staff very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed....MoreDear Jolanda thanks for reviewing La Gnoccheria but more importantly thank you for your work on behalf of people of the third world.
