Despite being very busy (understandably), the service was rapid, very friendly and even in English if I needed it. Food was good portions at good prices, no rip off here despite waterfront position. The seafood was fresh and the pizzas well covered and huge. Thoroughly recommend.

It is in an ancient sheep barn that we offer you to discover compositions of our leader. A kitchen defecated with quality products prepared respecting taste and underlined by subtle alliances of spices and of aromatic plants.Menus composed of products out of place, according to freshness of the market, are offered to you on the topic of the sea and the mountain. Their prices are spread between 17€ and 40€ A culinary creativity every instant to surprise your palace in a frame chalheureux.
4 of us visited La Cave d'Agnes for a "light" lunch. At first, the menu seemed impossible to understand. However, we persevered, and basically, the Menu is accompanied by a small chalk board. The chalk board explains in more detail the suggestions in the main menu.
So, the main menu remains broadly the same all the time, but seasonal changes and availability issues make the chalk board accurate on a dail basis.
Therefore, if there was say a fish dish, then the chalk board would specify what sort of fish it was, how it was cookes, and what came with it! Simple really!!!!
As we only went for a light lunch, we didn't really benefit from the fixed 3 course lunch. 3 of us had the fish dish, the 4th had steak.
The fish dish was amazing. A very imaginative fixture of vegetables and perfectly cooked Dorade. Absolutely delicious. The steak was very good too.
The lady serving at the table had a lovely personality, and she remained remarkably composed whilst she explained how the menu worked!!
There is a car park opposite the restaurant, and we all agreed that we would revisit La cave d'Agnes again.

If there's one thing the French know how to do, it's food. Well this place doesn't. The one thing it's supposed to do well, squid as per the name, was one of the blandest meals I've had in France in the one year I've been living here.
I tried the platter of all squid varieties and only the squid in its ink was something that could pass off by French food standards as acceptable. Add to that the fact that such a platter will set you back €21 and that all other mains are similarly priced (the fish platter was €19 and only the bream was acceptable but very salty) and it doesn't leave much to the imagination that this place is quite possibly a well located (it's on the main road) tourist trap.
Having said that, I don't think you can do much better in La Franqui, the place looks like a bit of a ghost town sea resort that's never quite made it.

Visited on Sunday. Restaurant front house staff seemed very preoccupied and service was poor. We were there for over 3 hours. The food varied over the whole meal. Starters were good as were desserts but all our main meals were disappointing. The lamb was exceptionally fatty. We had to ask several times for water and were not given the option of carafe wine. We had to ask for bread as did others around us.
The setting is lovely and we loved the previous restaurant these people owned in La Franqui. The food seemed better there. Service was distinctly better there too.
We have visited before but we will not go back again.

Very nice restaurant but noe of our main courses, sole fish, had an definitive off taste.
The chef did not listen to our comment, he was rather rude. Finally the bill was totally wrong, had to be rewritten 3 times to end up with right amount. When we lett we overheard staff making fool of our comment on the fish quality.

We were well before the season opened and felt fortunate to even find an open restaurant, let alone one so good! The waitress took pity on us, as it was cold out and we were on motorcycles. She moved the floor heater right up to our table to help us warm up. She didn't speak much English but took our orders promptly. The food was good. I admit that the steak I order was a little too fatty for my liking but the taste made up for it. My two traveling companions liked their meals without complaint.
By the time we finished our meals the rest of the restaurant had filled up with other diners. We spent the time watching the neighboring businesses prepare for the season - and the falling rain.

Very good food shack on Biquet Plage, friendly staff, good yet unpretentious sea fare served professionally at very reasonable prices. Look forward to returning.

And the second time round it was even better.
Right on the beach.
Hidden away but easily accessed.
Really fresh seafood and perfectly cooked.
We ate tuna, prawns, octopus, cod and hake.
All wonderful generous servings.
Friendly chilled out service.
We spent a whole day just lounging and grazing and watering. It was magic.

Beautiful warm November day and we decided to take a drive down to the coast. Looked at the TripAdvisor reviews and thought we'd try Les Planches Bavarin for lunch. All the Terrace tables were reserved but we were undaunted and took a table inside by the window. The service was low key, personal and attentive. Everything on the menu looked good but my wife and I opted for the turbot - a whole fish to share. It was grilled to perfection and served with a tangy salad, sweet potato fries and an amazing spicy sauce. Totally delicious. We shared a coconut tart for dessert which was not quite what I expected (what did I expect?) but it was sublime. We had the white wine that our host recommended - a Saint Chinian - and it was perfect.
I can't wait to go back - maybe next week. It was superb!
