On my way from Mercadito to the terminal, I stopped here with my big mochila. I sat up my backpack at one table and went to the counter to order coffee as it was a morning time. The staff informed me that I can go upstairs as there are many windows with good ventilation. They clearly noticed how much I was sweating. Besides a cup of coffee I needed fresh air.
The upstairs is an awesome place with some good view through the windows. I enjoyed my coffee with a nice view and fresh air. The staff is friendly. The location is the best. And the coffee is great.
I highly recommend this place.

CocinArte, the city's original vegetarian restaurant,is located in the oldest building of Leon (1620) a few blocks from Central park. The restaurant has a lovely green patio and soft world music is played which makes the restaurant a nice little escape from the buzzing streets of Leon. CocinArte specializes in international vegetarian dishes like falafel, pasta pesto, noodles with a mouthwatering peanut sauce or a flavorful Indian curry or chana masala. But you can also choose for a traditional Nicaraguan dish like Indio Viejo. The House special is "The CocinArte",a sizzling hot plate with sauteed veggie fajitas and vegetables. The menu offers smaller dishes like soups, quesadillas, tacos and salads For the carnivores there is a small selection of chicken dishes. Natural juices & milk shakes (without sugar!) are freshly made at the bar and a fine, strong organic coffee is served. All the food is made to order and ingredients are freshly cut. Packaging and take away is available. Open 12am -10pm, closed on Tuesdays.
I went there with a Vegan friend. She loved it... I find it a bit pricy. The food was still good. They are flexible with the order and really patient (is it just me or do other people find it weird if Vegan people need 10 min to order and discuss food?!)
You can choose giving a tip or not... Portions are not big enough for me. Always had to order 1-2 times extra rice to get full ;)

Not the cheapest but good value with a wide choice of Nica and Western options. Ate here a couple of mornings and between the 5 of us we sampled a good amount.Thank you for visiting us

Classic French boulangerie and patisserie located in the historic center of León. All products are made fresh every day by our own team of bakers. A fresh and tranquil patio where you can escape from León's heat. Enjoy your coffee and croissant in the morning, a fresh juice and Sandwich, quiche or salad for lunch, or indulge in a coffee and pastry to satisfy your sweet tooth. Relaxed atmosphere at night for a light diner or to savor our selection of cheeses, cold cuts and (French) wines.
The Nicaraguan coffee is excellent. The pastries are quite good, and the smoothies are worth a try. Good location across from the Best Western.

Nicaraguans love their meat, and this is the place to experience it. But it offers few options for the vegan or vegetarian. We ate here twice during our travels. Mostly because of the convenient location one block from the Merced. While the atmosphere and service in the restaurant area were consistently good (seating in the restaurant is around an open courtyard), the quality of the food was not. It seems to depend on who's in the kitchen. The wait staff were attentive and well-trained. The prices were relatively high by Leon standards, but reasonable for those from abroad used to paying much more for a good steak. I would say that the quality of the food was average to good, bordering on very good at times.

Right at the heart of this intellectual and humid city is located “El Sesteo” a nice setting with a nice view and a unique decoration. The food is nice has a good variety of things, Local food, Mexican, Sea food (ocean is only 20min away) and international cuisine, Service is pretty good and all of the walls are decorated with the local dance, folklore and most important people of Leon one of them Ruben Dario Father of the modernism and prince of the Spanish language. They are open for lunch and dinner and probably have the best view of any restaurant in Leon, have a nice breeze that run through the place and a nice view to the street which you can see the locals walking around the main square.Go and enjoy this place and give a try to local own places.
We have traveled all over the world and have never been ripped off the way we were at this restaurant. I feel outraged because we have been having a very positive experience in Nicaragua up to now. We paid our bill in cash and were shorted 150 Córdoba on the change. When we questioned it we were accused of putting in our pocket and accused of lying to them !! While it does s not a huge amount f money it is s very sad that this put a negative aspect on our time here. I would be careful if you go here.

Looked for this place my first night in Leon based on other reviews for not having blasting music. Good music, relaxed atmosphere, good service. I tried the Potato Skins (recommended on the menu) and they were just OK. Very small potatos, some halves did not have the potato scooped out. On the other hand, the chicken quesedilla was EXCELLENT.

In our restaurant we have service with Restaurant Bar, national and international cuisine, delicious menus for lunch, dinner, dishes Executives and snacks, rich bar national and international drinks.
While at the Flor de Caña tour we asked some Nicaraguan people recommend us this restauarant and some others, we decided this while I'm the mood for steak.
It was reasonably priced and we'll served. Due to a thunderstorm we were the only ones so it was served fast and we'll attended
I do recommend
