This restaurant is also a shop, which closes for lunch. Of course the restaurant is open, you have to go down a flight of stairs. They offer a fixed menu of "cocido" for lunch about 50% more costly than normal menus in Spain, but with more food and drink than usual too. First course was soup, followed by garbanzo beans, black pudding of Leon, and beautifully cooked and spiced cabbage. Everything was served family style, the beans, black pudding, and cabbage delicious eaten together. The main course is a huge plate of cooked meat, mostly pig, including trotters, ears, fat, and tongue. The idea of the fat is to crush it and sop up the liquid with the bread, which is a guilty pleasure. They also served a bit of veal meat on the side. Tasty, more food than you could possibly eat. Desserts were delicious, coffee, water, and wine were all included in the price. The wine was a red from Leon, fruity and full flavored.
Our server was patient and friendly, explaining everything to us in Spanish.

Returned here after a very enjoyable meal on our previous visit to Leon two years ago and were just as impressed as before. Everything on the no-choice 7 course menu was delicious and interesting and, unlike many Michelin starred restaurants, while the place itself is stylish and comfortable, and the presentation impeccable, this one is unmistakably focused on the quality and taste of what is on the plate. At 43 Euros this is quite expensive by Spanish standards but extremely good value for cooking of this calibre. There is an excellent wine list at reasonable prices (though ordering their accompanying selection of wines by the glass would add a lot more to the bill) and the menu was nicely adapted for the vegetarian in our party.

Perhaps we went at the right time (early June) but I don't recognise the comments about poor service or being overpriced. We were recommended this restaurant by the people at the Parador and believe they were right. It was quiet at 8:30 on a Saturday night, but that is early for the Spanish to eat; it was still quiet after 10 when we left, but then we found that there was an important football match that night so the owner didn't expect many till after 10:30. So, we got his full attention, lots of information and a tour of the cooking area.
He gets his meat only from trusted suppliers and then hangs it himself (you can see some near the entrance), so it isn't pink and poor like in the supermarkets. Most of the food is just grilled, including the vegetable platter, but done perfectly... as someone else said, the ingredients are allowed to speak for themselves. A single meat 'dish' is plenty for 2 with some vegetables. My wife is not fond of large amounts of meat but she loved this, and certainly did it justice.
OK, 90 Euros (including a decent red wine and coffees) isn't cheap, but we certainly felt it was well worth it.

I came back to Leon in late summer and went back to Restaurante Pablo with my family. Just like last time, it was the right choice!
The food was arranged beautifully and every dish looked exciting and creative. The chef and twice the owner came out to explain every dish they served. The staff was also very attentive and we never had to wait for our wine. The wine list is amazing! It is well worth taking the different wines recommended for each course.
I love the way each dish is completely different to the one before but yet they compliment and follow each other well. This time I also took photos of each dish.
This really is my favourite restaurant in Leon, as you just get to try so many nice dishes and there are always at least two desserts. I will definitely be back for my next culinary adventure.

Jamon Jamon is a very good, traditional bar with very friendly service, and the complimentary tapas of jamon, chorizo and cheese was an unexpected and lovely bonus. Such a good bar that we came a couple of times. Great atmosphere.

Pizza artisan. Possibly the best pizzeria in Leon. Friendly service. Guisseppe, owner of Neapolitan origin is lovely, the place, especially in summer, very good to go with kids in winter and feel the heat from the wood oven.
We arrived here when it was completely full. We decided to wait it out in hopes that a table would open up and it did. LUCKY US. Even with the large language barrier our waiters were extremely patient and helpful. The pizza was delicious and the ingredients were fresh. We were so happy with our experience I went inside to give my compliments. I received a full on man hug and gratitude for my efforts. We will always return here when back in Leon.

We loved the hotel, it is in a perfect location in the town and secure, free parking was a bonus. The staff were professional and friendly. Our room was very comfortable. The manager's tour, as many people have pointed out, was really interesting and Leon is a charming town. However, the menu in the restaurant had nothing for vegetarians. We asked if the chef could make a French omelette for us to share. This was fine and came with a salad of mixed leaves and a small portion of chips. The non-vegetarian 3 course set menu was 16 euros so we were expecting about the same for our meal but we were surprised on checking out next day that we had been charged 30 euros. The most expensive omelette ever!! We left feeling defrauded and disappointed. This spoiled what was otherwise a perfect stay.

Outstandingly good. Both menu and wine list offer a limited number of dishes, and none disappointed. Ensalada de frutas fresh and appetising. Croquetas de cecina bite-sized and savoury. Slow-cooked pork delicious. Service attentive but not fussy. Premises small but not cramped. Proprietor-chef helpful on menu choice.
Better than the very good but more expensive Michelin-starred establishment in León

Thanks to previous reviewers for flagging this one, we wanted to avoid the larger bars. What a nice find, with a mix of tourists and locals, and friendly staff it was a fun environment.
Most people drifted off after one or two drinks. We stayed quite a while, enjoying different wines and the free tapas selection, ordering a few menu dishes also.
Good fun and good value.

This little gem of a restaurant just outside the old town offers Michelin-star creativity and quality at very agreeable prices. Just everything turned out to be a tribute to perfection: tuna tiradito, raw sliced scallops (with a spicy Asian sauce to die for), a coarse, well seasoned beef tartare (truly my best ever). And the signature dish chocolate dessert is just ingenious. No visit to Leon should miss out on this restaurant.
