Glitzy Lech is one of Austria's most moneyed resort towns. Pricy, posh palaces abound, but this ostentatious, old-school winter wonderland has accommodations and a place on the pistes for all budgets. Popular since the 1920 and 1930s, this former farming town has managed to retain its original character and charm. Its somewhat isolated location forces an often tricky drive in inclement weather but also is part of what appeals to celebrity admirers. Nearest airports are Zurich and Innsbruck.

For the last 30+ years have we been coming here for at least a coffee and cake, often for dinner and a few times also for overnight. Always a pleasure .... except for the past 2-3 years. Staff has become unattentive, arrogant and not focused anymore what the guest is looking for. Except if you are a celeb or a house guest.
the table promised for the next 15 min took almost an hour. The food for the four of us came not together and was partially wrong and not adequate for a 5 star hotel. Addressing the issue with the Mr. Ober was embarrassing ... and ni relief on the final bill. Just a forced, not overly honest apology at the end. Sad .... compared to what this place was just years ago. Please focus again on all customers!

Lots on the menu, very good quality, service is a little austere but very well intentioned. Food is very good and has some different itels on the menu to many places.

Bakery - Mmmmm that smells good!Every slice of bread and every piece of cake from our bakery is made of natural ingredients from the region and full of goodness. You can taste it in the fresh cream, in the butter and the genuine wholemeal and rye. There seems no end to the range of goodies that Clemens Walch conjures up. Some people travel miles for them. For you, they're fresh on the table, every day.
Amazing bakery that's stuffed to the brim with treats and snacks to keep you going through the day. There's a small restaurant at the back if you want to sit and eat a small meal before heading outside again.

I only regret not coming here during prior trips to Lech. We went to S'Achtele twice over the week for dinner, walking there both times. The Amouse Bouche is really excellent. I can highly recommend the VEAL CUTLET. My wife enjoyed her lamb - twice! The wine selection is dominated by Austrian offerings...worth exploring while in Lech. The service is genuine and friendly and I really liked the atmosphere : No big windows, but nice lighting. The restaurant is not too big, so do reserve!

Good food is difficult to find when you are in a foreigner from the Southern Hemisphere in a small Alpine village. Caroline from Hotel Garni Lavendel (20 meters away) recommended this place (pity we only asked on day 3!!). Wow. It is a memorable restaurant. So please do not waste your time and efforts looking elsewhere. This is the place with a fantastic menu and good wines. There are a zillion returning local and international customers that tell us that this is the No. 1 spot they come back to in Lech, year after year.
It is nice to know that Austrian food tastes this good.

This restaurant was virtually full minutes after it opened at 7pm, we were lucky to get a seat at the bar, the rest of this large restaurant was reserved. Its an open plan building with tables all round the sides, predominantly families but a few...MoreThank you!

Our yearly visit to Lech and to Hus #8. This time we had the meat and prawns fondue and as expected it was excellent. The broth served out of the fondue pot at the end with added cherry liquor was outstanding.
Looking forward to our next time here.

there's everything you would expect:
1) great service, attentive and friendly; the owner is there himself and makes sure, you have everything you need
2) great food - especially the steaks are awesome
3) great wine - they offer a wide range of different wines with reasonable price ranges
4) amazing location - a super-old wooden house, marvellous surroundings, great intereur
Be aware - the last time we were there, they did not accept cards (neither credit nor debit), so you should bring cash.
We go there every year - it has become a tradition, that we are looking forward every year.
