La Libertad Malecon
The Restaurant El Tigre
After my last appointment at the dentist which lasted two hours, we left hungry and wanted to try the above named restaurant.
We entered and sat down at a table that could seat four. A man in a tee shirt came over with two menus and placed them on the table, left and came back several minutes later but did not stay to take our order.
A party of four and a couple came after us. We were the only non Ecuadorians in the place.
The six people that came after us were waited on before us. Their drinks were brought out, and we still were not waited on for our order. At this point, I stood up and shouted at the waiter, who just ignored me.
A short, stocky man came over and said, "I will help". He sat with us and took our order, and wanted to sell us wine.
By this time, we had been in the restaurant 25 minutes- we still do not have a drink or food. Five minutes later, my drink came out, but no drink for Evelyn.
Forty minutes had passed and still no drink for Evelyn or food for either of us. The 6 people that arrived after us have finished their food.
Fifty minutes have now passed, and a plate of food and a drink have been brought out for Evelyn.
Ten minutes later, my food was brought out. The rice was hard, the breaded fish I had ordered was burnt on the outside and still frozen on the inside. I took the meal to the manager, and he turned up his palms and sighed.
The bathrooms were very dirty, no soap, towels, or toilet paper.
This place is a health hazard to non Ecuadorians. Avoid it at all costs. Also, the food that Evelyn was served was no better. We left hungry. We will not be returning there, ever.

I went to Sumpa many times during my holidays for lunch. It is extremely affordable, the food is delicious and the service is excellent. I highly recommend it and will be back in December!

The pizzeria is located in the Malecon of LA Libertad, A NICE BEACH LOCATED IN THE PROVINCE OF SANTA ELENA, Ecuador. IT has the best pizza, the dough is soft and its taste is delicious; Plops pizza haS a variety both in pizza and in prices. ACCORDING to tote SIZE: The SMALL portion IS $ 1.85, the mEDIUM SIZE PORTION IS $ 7 and the family pizza, $ 14.
Plops pizza has two floors, it is a place with a good atmosphere, good SERVICE and wonderful view, FROM THERE you can appreciate the sea, in a few words you can't go to Libertad without VISITING AND SPENDING TIME with your family and friends AT Plops pizza

With an excelent panoramic view of the Malecon of La Libertad city, in a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere and with a first class service, you can enjoy the traditional dishes of the Ecuadorian coast with specialty in fruits of the sea.
La honesta realidad y opinion personal, para ser de un costo un poco alto el servicio, lugar , comida y area no me convencen a la totalidad. Les falta bastante para poder decir que es buen lugar y poder recomendarlo.

Getting into the place took a bit of doing as the staircase that leads to the first floor restaurant are very steep, OK going in but after a few it may be a hazard.
I had the ribs which were good, the very small portion of frys and a steamed salad that cam with it did not meet my mark of quanta or quality.
The Seating ranges from floor cushions to bench seats at a long table, the TV was on and music was playing, that made it hard to have a conversation without raising your voice.
The table we sat at overlooked a BBQ place next door, which was closed that night, goof job because the stack from their BBQ pit was at the same height as our heads.
Overhaul quite good for a bar scene place, but those stairs !!!!

Having heard about this place from friends we decided to give it a try.
First we broke our rule, that we never go into an empty restaurant.
Anyway, the place was well laid out and it looked clean.
So we sat down, a young lady brought over a laminated one page menu.
We ordered the combo # 2 cost $8.00 plus drinks.
As our meal was served the place started to fill up.
The meat was good a lot of fat, potato was under cooked, corn was tuff but the sausage was nice, the beans and rice were nice, there was just to much food.
It was only then that I noticed what the cook was not doing.
The cook was taking the raw meat from plates and placing it on the BBQ, he then picked up meat that was cooking with tongs placed it on a plate and with his hands was checking how well it was cooked. If it was cooked he then placed it on a serving plate.
At no time did he wash his hands wear gloves or use any method of preventing cross contamination.
In the cooking area there was no sink or method of washing hands.
We will not be going back there

We ate at Girasoles de Van Gogh because we saw it from the road and thought it was just a super cute place. Plus it has a great name and a good sign. We were quite pleased with the food, the staff, the owners, and the place. Everyone was friendly, the food was tasty, the place was cute. They have neat ideas inside that seem very worldly. Every once in a while you meet someone when traveling that you’d really like to get to know better. And the owners of this restaurant are some of those people!
