A popular daytrip destination from Prague, Kutna Hora offers spectacular faded grandeur without the capital's madding crowds. The financial center of Bohemia until the silver ore ran out, Kutna Hora once rivaled Prague's magnificence. The site of Wenceslas II's Royal Mint in 1308, the town was added to UNESCO's World Heritage list in 1996. Saint Barbara's cathedral and the eerie Kostnice bone church, decorated with disconcerting sculptures of the bones of plague victims, are main attractions.

Try the Beer Degustation. Six kinds of beer.
Their fiery goulash is delicious. I ate there for lunch while visiting Sedlec Ossuary and found the restaurant to be authentic and reasonably priced. The menu otherwise seems quite comprehensive. The service there is friendly too. I highly recommend a meal there.

Se ate here as it was possible to eat vegan soy fillets here. Besides them we chose gnocchi with chanterelles, Green beans, grilled peppers and spiced potato pancakes. Food was ok, quite heavy and greasy though and them really seemed to know Salt as the only spice. But Terrace was kinda cool and points for soy fillets.

Warm smiley staff, it is noisier and buzzy upstairs, quieter but the same good food and service downstairs. Lots of steps for older people.
Tried the red wine but to me unpalatable, so opted for the beer which was delicious.
Started with lightly smoked trout, my companion had cheese balls both of which were tasty.
I had leg of rabbit and my companion had the goulash, both again were fine.
Throughout the staff were friendly interested and efficient.
A most pleasant experience in a great location.

Barbora is on an upper street of Kutna Hora just over from the Cathedral. It is easy to overlook because it is in a modern building and is part of a pension. The food and service are great and may be the only place in town with salads and non-traditional dishes (most of menu is traditional. When we visited, we were the only tourists and we had a great tome with local families. We had the mozzarella starter and the salmon salad and tuna with eggplant, all wonderful. Highly recommend.

Since we stayed at this hotel, we enjoyed a nice cold beer after touring Kutna Hora and eating dinner some place else. There are 2 restaurants, one more casual and quiet (this is also used for breakfasts) and one with a more character and more noisy, it was very full and everyone was having fun it seemed. We were advised the restaurant is opened until 10.30 PM for dinner. There is also a Terrace outside, overlooking the parking lot. Since it was quiet cold, no one was sitting there.

We were looking for good Czech restaurant, with authentic dishes, with reasonable prices. That is exactly what we got in Kometa.

After arriving from Prague, we were hungry and the menu here appealed to us. We were not expecting the quality of the food to be so exceptional - and the menu was varied and interesting. The grilled chicken and vegetables was exceptional, as were the pasta and pizza dishes. But the highlight of the meal was our waiter Joe (Josef)! We have eaten all over the world and have never encountered a more positive, happy and upbeat person as Joe. If all servers enjoyed their job, and were as dedicated to customer service as Joe, eating out would be an always enjoyable experience. At any rate, I like to think we left as friends and hope you try this nice place for lunch or dinner. While you are there, say hello to Joe and tell him you were sent by the guy who called him the world's best waiter! He earned the title, believe me!

We finally found a place to eat & rest our bones after trekking all over town. We left 3 other places because they were overwhelmed w/customers & no service. Neither did they care.
I spotted the sign "pizzaia" off we went & service was excellent - they went out of the way to speck English the best they could & help us with the menu. We have an allergy to dairy person with us & they totally took care of him. Pizza was simple yet satisfying & the others all enjoyed the hamburgers. Thank you again for being friendly
