Kudat (Malay: Pekan Kudat) is the capital of the Kudat District in the Kudat Division of Sabah, Malaysia. Its population was estimated to be around 29,025 in 2010. It is located 190 kilometres (120 mi) north of Kota Kinabalu, the state capital, and is near the northernmost point of Borneo. It is the largest town in the heartland of the Rungus people which is a sub-ethnic group of the majority Kadazan-Dusun race and is therefore a major centre of Rungus culture. It is also notable for being one of the first parts of Sabah to be settled by Chinese Malaysians, particularly from the Hakka dialect group.

Topat Do Amans restaurant, Tip Top, on the tip of Borneo deserves max Stars for food, experience, creative thinking and an absolute unique atmosphere. Howard and Lorina are working very hard together with the rest of the staff - beeing it volunteers or hired. We stayed at Tip of Borneo beachresort, but had all our meals on Tip Top.

Tiptop restaurant is a project that seems to include locals: not only as employees, but the owner Howard and his wife are initiators of the Rungus museum close-by. Developing tourism gently like this is a good idea.
The restaurant offers fresh local and western food all day long till about 8pm. We were surprised and impressed by the very nice cheese cakes. And after tireing of noodles and rice, we dared try the pizza and Spaghetti- again quite a surprise. Both was very delicious.

This is a little restaurant tucked away in the corner of the third floor (turn right as your exit the escalator) and we have eaten here all three times we have visited KL. It has been upgraded since our last visit and looks great. The food is the best and the taste is magnificent. Three meals and a drink under $15.00 au. Cant beat that my friend

Reading the previous opinions, we shouldn't end there but we did. We had a very decent experience. They have live fishes so freshness is guaranteed...we had butter prawns, pork and anchor beer. The staff was nice but our context is probably different since my wife is a Sabahan (Kdzn). I agree that the restaurant really needs an upgrade as it is old, but on a monday evening, it did the job.

We have a meal here at the Chinese-owned (the stalls near to the entrance) restaurant. It was the cheapest seafood we ever ate in Sabah. The portion was adequate for our family size and the seafood were very fresh.
However, it should be noted that the variety of seafood available depends on current monsoon season. At the time of our visit, some of the seafood recommended by my local friends (baby lobster, prawns) were unavailable due to public holidays as well.

This is the most beautiful place I have ever been to. The bar is managed by 2 volunteers (a couple, Andrew and Sharon from Australia in june 2016) There are hardly any other souls nearby. We spent 3 days on the beach with the 4 of us (Andrew, Sharon, my girlfriend Lisanne and me, Mark)
The place was amazing, Andrew and Sharon keep the beach very clean. They will borrow you their snorkel gear, and when you walk into the water, a few meters from the bar, you see coral reefs instantly. It is a magical place.
We stayed in the bar basically 3 full days. Form dusk till dawn, literally. So beautiful this place is. We'll be back most definitely.

We were staying at Lupa masa just along the beach from this beachfront restaurant and really liked it.
It is family run and they are super friendly and eager to please. Great place to have a beer and watch the sunset.
Food is simple Malaysian food but well cooked and tasty. The chicken curry was very tasty.
No frills but just a lovely family looking after the few tourists who head out here.
We ate here most evenings.

Hari-Hari Seafood Restaurant is located within the premises of Kampung Kelapa, next to the car park of Pasar Besar Kudat (Kudat Market). We decided to have seafood for lunch. So we asked a local for recommendation of a reasonably priced restaurant and she suggested Hari-Hari Seafood.
We had two dishes (small portion), steamed garoupa (or grouper) with ginger and steamed prawns in egg. Our meal for two (excluding drinks) came up to RM33. We were happy and satisfied with our lunch. The meal was yummilicious and reasonably priced for fresh seafood. For information, the restaurant has an air-conditioned section and an open outdoor section. There is free WIFI service available. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

This place is right by the lovely sea, so nice views. Unfortunately the owners do not respect the beautiful nature on their doorstep. When they clear the tables after guests have left, they throw everything straight over the Terrace into the sea! That's plastic straws, plastic cutlery, plastic plates, napkins, all types of food scraps, etc. They do it completely blatantly and unashamedly right in front of you. These people are polluting the seas and killing fish and turtles. Apart from that, the place seemed very dirty and we had to wait ages to be served. Do not come here if you value yours and the planet's health!!

We love this place! Excellent banana leave and simply delicious food. Great range of dishes and really good value. The place is comfortable and has an adorable ambience. Fantastic service from the owner and his staff always going out of the way to make you feel at home. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommended.
