Went in with my daughter mainly because it didn't look like every other place in the area. Nicely decorated and a big airy veranda to eat on. Had some Thai classics on the menu, but otherwise fairly typical for a kampung restaurant. Ordered the green curry and it was almost very good, just lacking the fragrant kick a really good green curry has. For the fish, we had a lovely fresh seabass, and that was great.
Overall, it was a pleasant meal without being spectacular. However, the price was great and it was certainly excellent value.

After a year, the revisit is not impressive other then seeing the Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor.
Chicken was still good, beef that given the Wow gone and lamb is like chewing gum. Service needed much improvement. Hope they keep up their standard and do not disappoint those who visit with expectation.

We wanted something different to celebrate birthday in this seaside town.
There wasn't many choices of good Western food so we lowered our expectations and took advice from a relative and also some TA reviews about Crocodile Rock.
The old bungalow offered some nostalgia feelings of the colonial era. The interior lightings in the main dining room were a bit too dim for a pleasant family celebration. They should look into improving the overall lightings of the restaurant.
There is lovely outdoor dining but more prevention effort has to be done, as it's surrounded by Gardens shrubs and plants (looked not so pruned & tidy). The pleasant evening dining would be dampened by mosquito bites.
The food we ordered tasted satisfactory except the lamb legs were a bit overdone (hard). The shrimp pasta's portion was small, good for those who wanted to indulge and didn't want to feel too guilty lol. Our party of 7, enjoyed the Today's special: beef beacon cheese pizzas, thin & crispy.
Price wise is above average given the relatively small portion.

The shop has been around for ages due to their curry mee which is pretty famous in Kuantan. Coffee shop is old but very clean and service is fast.
I like this shop because all races eat here.
The chicken broth base curry is difference from many as not as thick in coconut milk.Slightly mild with tinge of spicy taste.
The chicken still tender and juicy.
Bean curbs slightly on tough side if not everything pretty balance and tasty.
Will be back.

Hardly to get any parking here... but the food is nice and cheap... just if you are not eating much of fatty meat, avoid ordering the yam basket pork & also claypot salted fish pork.. because the fats is more than the lean meat.... Peipa Duck is just average... the meat is just too hard and overcooked.... overall the dishes is good and the price is very reasonable.. very pack during 7-9pm... loaded with customer. Be prepared to wait if you are coming during this hour.

Beachfront cafe / bar with fresh food in the relax and comfortable atmosphere. Wifi and card payment available.Pet friendly.
This restaurant and bar is eco friendly and pet friendly. One of the very few restaurants in Malaysia where your furry companions can also enjoy the beach with you. There are also games for children and book exchange where you can grab a book lie on the hammock overlooking the beach while you sip their signature cocktails. Aside from the great ambience the food menu has a selection that will bring you towards a tantalizing gastronomical delight. The experience will leave you wanting to return to this Cherating treasure.

I first moved to Kuantan 11 years ago. At that time, Tjantek cafe was about the only 'upmarket' cafe in Kuantan. There was no Starbucks, Old Town kopitiam, Papparich, Secret recipe etc. At that time, Tjantek was considered expensive, and we reserved going there for friends birthdays and work leaving-dos.
Over the years, the cafe has remained the same.....which is a good thing. The decorations, lighting and music make the overall ambience very relaxed. The food served is a range of pasta, salmon, steak, garlic bread etc. All good meals. And the price of each dish is comparable, or even cheaper then cafes like Old Town kopitiam Kopitiam Kemaman or Secret Recipe.
A good place to chill out with friends or family. Not so good for toddlers though, as the decorations are breakable!

Sitting in nice atmosphere and having nice food. Some german style with mashed potato, Italian style pasta, pizza and altogether with beer or wine. Everything tastes really nice. Good recommendation.

Classic Hainanise hospitality serving good western dishes. Their roots from the colonial rest-house days were evident in their menu.
I have not complained or found any issues with their food since I started to be their customer since 2011.
Try their steaks and lamb chops, and finish it off with their sweets.
