We visited the Steki restaurant in Koutouloufari for dinner while on holiday in Piskopiano. The restaurant overlooks the wishing well and down to Hersonissos.
The food was excellent, there was a good choice of Cretan specialities, the atmosphere was great and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The entertainment was amazing, as was the traditional plate smashing!
The Steki restaurant is well worth a visit and the desserts and Raki were an added bonus!

We walked past the Oniro daily. We never, for whatever reason went in. At the end of our holiday we did. We realised we had made a mistake. The food and service was excellent. We should have visited more often! We are returning to Koutoulafari in September 2018. You can bet on us going back here.

This Restaurant was wonderful and like stepping back in time to Greek History. Excellent Food and Service and a complimentary glass of Champagne on arrival, hot towels for your hands between courses, will definitely be back

Shared Fried cheese and meatballs to start which were lovely. House wine was delicious and service was friendly and welcoming.
The sea bream was rather small and the accompanying vegetables were soggy and luke warm although mommas legendary potatoes were crispy and delicious.
Big disappointment for us was when momma came out of her kitchen to speak with a fellow diner while she was smoking a cigarette. Yuk!!!!

..We tried to book a table following recommendations to do so but were told bookings were not taken for couples. We were reassured, however, that there would not be a problem given we wanted to eat at 6pm..."we would have the choice of the restaurant." Very disappointed to arrive and find that not only was the table for two we would have liked had a Reserved sign on (and not occupied for the whole time we were there) we were told where we HAD to sit!! Despite this, we could not fault the food...presentation, taste, quality. More expensive menu, including the wine, but well worth it. Would not put us off visiting again

Excellent Taverna - and you only have 4 reviews of places in this very popular tourist destination at present. Delicious, traditional Cretan foods - including the only dolmades (stuffed vine leaves) that my girlfriends has ever eaten and superb oven-baked aubergines. I would like to write a full review of this excellent restaurant, so please add it to your site.
We ate here on the first night of our holiday, choosing it because due to its position we could look at the church and the very pretty house opposite. The food and wine were good and prices reasonable. It had a very nice atmosphere and we were served with a smile. Other guests were asking the waiter if he could dance the traditional Greek dance and he promptly put on some music and invited the diners to join him, instructing them through the song. Dancing, laughter, good food and wine. What more could you ask for !

We had an enjoyable evening at the Gevsi Taverna.
The traditional home-made food was delicious and the lady owner made us feel really welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and the owner even made us fresh waffles with ice cream, they were delicious.
Try it, you won’t be disappointed!

At Koutouloufari in Hersonissos, in this beautiful traditional village, the Alchemist awaits you. Stone, wood, light, and a green scenery blend to form a casual decor. Enjoy selected dishes of the Cretan cuisine. Grilled meat, a wide variety of appetizers, fresh seafood, and sophisticated cocktails. Taste the beef stew or the lamb. Complement your meal with cold beer or Cretan wine. Finally try a homemade dessert. Human smiles will fulfill the integrity of the site and the excellence of flavors.
We managed to catch this restaurant on its last night of the season and enjoyed a terrific evening. The atmosphere was vibrant and the margaritas delicious. Can’t remember what we ate as the Raki kept coming, but I do remember that the food and hospitality were good.

“Rahati”was completed in 1906 Its eastern part was initially a cafe The main part was used as a residence and the western part as a stable..It was restored again in 2016 and since March 2017 it is open daily to cater for all tastes and offer alternative choises for a breakfast ,snack or meal .We mainly use selected, local raw materials,The new proprietors Marianna and Maria ,always aim for the best
We visited Rahati three times on our holiday after Reading so many positive reviews and all 3 times we weren't disappointed. They have really good sandwiches, omlettes, falaffel, homemade cakes, pancakes, milkshakes and ice creams. The homemade waffles were so good we had to order another one as soon as we finished the first one! The staff were very friendly and service was good. We only wished we had a few more days so we could have gone back again!

We visited twice during our holiday and both voted Sergiani as our firm favourite.
Great choice on the menu, wood fired oven, great house wine, lovely service so what’s not to love?
The oven baked spaghetti is divine as is the pork fillet in a delicious sauce.
Pizzas are awesome.
Complimentary desserts and Raki to finish.
