We stopped at "Da Otto" for a short lunchbreak, because of all the excellent reviews here on tripadvisor.
The pasta was good, but nothing that you would not get at any proper Italian Restaurant. The latte macciato was only lukewarm and the place itself got the atmosphere of a very basic place.
maybe it is different at dinnertime, but I can not rate the ristorante better then average.

Die Küche ist gut, der Service freundlich und kompetent, allerdings gibt es zwischendurch auch schon mal Gerichte, die nicht begeistern. Nudeln sind immer gut, Suppen und Desserts unterschiedlich. Gute Weine.

Ottima cucina mitteleuropea, carnica ed austriaca realizzata con molta cura utilizzando prodotti stagionali, servita con attenzione e cortesia in un ambiente rustico ma non troppo. Ottima anche la birra ed i liquori ma anche un buon bicchiere di vino del Collio.
Consigliato per una sosta ristoratrice dopo una camminata in montagna oppure un tour in moto sui tornanti del passo Monte Croce Carnico nell'ampia sala con caminetto, per le stagioni fredde, o sul piazzale antistante per godere della fresca brezza estiva.

Being you the laid out guy that just wants to enjoy the view and relax, or the more active willing to hike the wonderful surrouding Mountains ,you just have to make a jump here. Well managed and with a good road connecting it with the valley the place is a must.

Das La Tambra liegt an der Straße Richtung Österreich, etwas versteckt am Rande. Es gibt karnische Kost, Tiroler Spezialitäten und ganz ausgezeichnete Pizzen in vielen Varianten - alles zu sehr günstigen Preisen. Das Restaurant in eingerichtet wie ein Museum, überall hängen Bratpfannen und Kochtöpfe. Die Bedienung ist ausnehmend freundlich und auch für Sonderwünsche aufgeschlossen. Wirklich empfehlenswert!

They had on offer a 16 euro 3 course evening menu. We just choose two main courses, one the Kärntner Knödel a speciality of the area and a Cordon Blue Schnitzel (10 Euro) The Kärntner was good but not the best. But value for money was amazing.
The room is a touch bright for evening dining. Service was fine, we were the only customers eating in that room.

E' proprio un vero peccato che un bellissimo rifugio come il Marinelli, meta molto frequentata dagli escursionisti, da dove si gode un Panorama stupendo, dove le pietanze sono squisite e servite in maniera impeccabile (da ristorante di lusso...), dove il personale è loquace e disponibile e molto solerte, ci abbia regalato un grande delusione. Infatti alla fine ci siamo trovati a pagare un conto assolutamente spropositato rispetto alla media degli altri rifugi (e vi assicuro ne ho visitati parecchi...): il menù viene elencato a voce dal personale, non c'è infatti nessuna traccia di un elenco scritto con i prezzi, e alla richiesta del costo delle singole pietanze, si ottengono solo risposte evasive e pressapochiste. Morale: conto finale per tre persone veramente spropositato, a livello di un Hotel a 5 stelle, e parliamo solo di un primo e due secondi. Un piatto di pasta - 100 grammi - ben 12 euro, complimenti! Addirittura 2,50 euro di coperto a testa (personalmente in nessun rifugio mi è stato fatto pagare il coperto!). Per finire, alla richiesta del conto, ci viene anche detto che non possono rilasciare nessun documento fiscale... perché prima ci dicono che i rifugi non sono tenuti a rilasciarlo (??), e poi, vista la nostra insistenza, che il registratore di cassa era rotto (???). Lascio a voi giudicare...

Well cooked, well presented and tasty traditional Austrian dishes. The restaurant has a homely and laid back atmosphere that matches the feel of the local area. Hearty food that hits the spot after a day in the Mountains.

The environment is beautiful. Nice and cosy, but modern interior. The staff always smiling and very friendly. I don't usually write any reviews, but this restaurant deserves one. We had their homemade meal with sauerkraut as well as some fish meals and all of us were very pleased. Good for families with children too, but great for lovers on romantic holiday too.
