Lovely restaurant with very friendly owners (Swiss/Thai). I had one of the best spaghetti bolognese I've had in all my time in Asia (6 months now) and much cheaper than at overpriced 'Italian' restaurants in for example Bangkok. The menu had a good choice of Italian/Swiss dishes and Thai food. They also do wine by the glass for less than 100B which is cheap compared to other places. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Visited this place for the third time I think recently.
Think it’s a great place. We came quite early this time, so no problem to be seated.
Service is effective and kind.
Had springrolls for starter, good start.
We had shrimp tempura and garlic shrimps for mains, both of them great! Shrimps tempura perfect with light tempura.
Nice view!

KOH MAK ISLAND RESTAURANT is a new destination for those who like Thai-style ambience with sea-view and spacious terraces. The kitchen offers original Thai-food and the new European management will treat you well with European dishes like pasta and steaks. Enjoy freshly brewed cappucino with a variaty of Deserts, cakes and ice-cream on the Terrace. Koh Mak Island has seats for romantic couples with privacy and family friendly tables with kids-chairs. The children will love the kids-menu.The restaurant is located on the grounds of the well-known Good Time Resort. Restaurant guests have free access to the library with dvds, books and free WIFI. Kids can play at the kids-corner or playground.
I was on koh mak for about 4 weeks and stayed at different places (good time resort, ao kao beach etc.). I got to know this place when i was staying at the good time resort. they use it for breakfast.
my 3 favourite things to order were:
1. banana shake (i ordered it everytime). other places use a lot of ice so the shakes are somehow watery. here they make the best shakes: thick and creamy banana shakes. so good. i would say it is the best banana shake on the island. if you're on koh mak you have to try it and say thank you to me :-)
2. fried rice with chicken. this was my (almost) daily dish on the island. good carbs and high in protein. perfect fuel for me as i used to work out every day. they use no glutamat (artifical stuff = bad for you), but very fresh herbs and great fresh produce. i had fried rice/chicken at other places, but most of the time they used too much fat so the dish is too oily. in this restaurant they don't use so much fat. you get a really healthy fresh food to eat (was important to me on a daily basis)
3. the currys they make are really great. very fresh and mouthwatering. they do not use a lot of water, so the curry is really creamy, thick and delicious.
this restaurant is not the cheapest place to eat on koh mak. but i don't like the cheap food anyway. i rather go for good, solid quality. and compared to Germany (where i come from) the prices are still very small :-)

I only spent 2 days on Koh Mak island and I wish I had longer there purely to try more of the menu in this restaurant! Really the food is delicious and so fresh, its unbelievable! Its ridiculously cheap too, for example the sweet n sour chicken with rice is 100baht! You have to try the fresh fruit smoothies ... I would also recommend their special island ice coffee, which is made with coconut milk!!

This place is incredible.
The food is fresh (he literally gets on his motorbike after you order to get sone ingredients).
The wife is the cook—-so talented. We were on the island for 1 week and ate here constantly.
The bananas cooked in coconut milk for dessert is incredible (be sure to order rice in the side to soak up the milk).
Smoothies amazing. I want to write something for them to improve on but i cant think of anything. Go asap!
We are just finishing travelling in Thailand after 1 month—-this place is certainly on our list for best food joints.

Had a great lunch (western baguette) and on another day we had an afternoon tea of coffee and home made cakes. The fruit shakes were cold and flavoursome. Loved looking down on the activity happening on the pier below. If that wasn't enough, you had the pigs rooting for food nearby.

Fresh food. Great variety of dishes, combining Thai and European cuisine. Really good coffee. Beautiful premises (garden). Cooler than the average restaurant in Koh Mak. Extremely friendly staff. They pick you up and bring you back to your hotel if you book via Facebook.

This place is a hidden gem. Off the 'main strip', Jay and his wife make you so welcome and comfortable. We loved it here with the live music and delicious cocktails. The owners really go out their way to welcome you and are more than happy to swap stories and experiences. Jay is a brilliant artist and his art adorns the walls. For a good price you can purchase the one-of-a-kind paintings. We had two pictures of the kids drawn by Jay and it was a lovely reminder of the cool bar and owners. This is a must for fun eclectic people.
