On entering Hackett’s bar you will see there are a multitude of influences that make this bar an exciting and ndividual establishment situated in the centre of the popular tourist village of Schull. The interior is clearly unique and fascinating with a large collection of paintings and framed photographs featuring some familiar faces from the locality. An interesting extensive bar menu and offers a distinctive dining experience.
We stayed in Schull for just two nights and stopped in Hackett's Bar for an after dinner drink. There was live music on a Sunday evening and the place was quite lively. We had a wonderful visit with local characters. Everyone was welcoming and friendly--it was an evening to remember! If you want to go to a place where locals hang out--this is the place!

Great place tucked away in the harbour in Goleen. Staff are very welcoming. Lovely feature of being able to browse the wine "cellar" with lots of variety and reasonably priced. The menu had a real local feel to it. Mussels are excellent and the favourites were the monkfish, steak and lamb chops. We didn't make it to dessert but experimented with another bottle from the cellar! A throughly enjoyable evening overlooking the harbour.

O'Sullivan's Bar is located in the heart of the scenic village of Crookhaven nestled in the Mizen Peninsula of West Cork. The family run bar which overlooks the beauty of Crookhaven harbour prides itself on its friendly atmosphere and great food & drink. Whether seated inside next to the cosy fire on a winter's day or relaxing in the summer Sunshine on our tables next to the water, you can expect great friendly service and the finest chowder, soups and freshest range of sandwiches in West Cork.
We returned three times to O'Sullivan's Bar during our fortnight's holiday. I think that says it all! The sandwiches were wonderful - 5 layers of smoked salmon in mine and my husband said the beef was superb. It was straight off a joint of meat and you could tell. I understand too that the Beamish was excellent too. The staff were helpful and friendly and Mr O'Sullivan was definitely the reason the bar was so great..

I was there for dinner and can recommend this beautiful restaurant. We had great aperitifs, excellent choices at the starters buffet with fresh oysters, perfectly grilled lamb chops as main and a various choice of delicious Deserts. The staff is very professional and welcomes each guest. The dinner was accompanied by a piano player.

When you drive into Crook Haven you reach the end of the road and you feel miles from anywhere. We stayed in a local B&B and walked to the Crook Haven Inn for dinner. My wife had the black pudding and apple salad, which she said was delicious. I had an excellent fish chowder which had 3 muscles in their shells submerged in it. My wife had the hake with hazelnut and pepper, which she described as pleasant but a little strange. I had monkfish in a butter and parsley sauce, nicely cooked. Pub atmosphere and good cooking. The rating in Trip Advisor only allow me to say 'average' or 'very good' ... if I had free choice I would say 'good'.

Had a meal with friends in Arundel's last week . Lucky to get a table as restaurant and bar full. Food though was only so so . Location lovely with a sunny aspect overlooking the harbour . If in the area again, would give it another go - maybe we were unlucky the night we ate there.

There is something extravagant about this place. It's not the fact that they don't take Reservations nor the fact that it's a small room stuffed with people talking and eating and queuing. Therefore, it must be the food. I had a very enjoyable seafood platter followed by a vegetarian chilli - both delicious, while my son had a very appetising pizza.
The chalk board menu was full of options and the service was direct with a smile.

Perhaps the best crepes you are likely to taste in West Cork. On a recent visit to Mizen Head and surroundings we were advised to treat ourselves to a visit to Paradise Crepe in Schull. What a treat ! What a range of choices ! Our group of four ordered three different filling options so we were able to taste some of the alternatives but frankly we will have to go back. Having eaten crepes in many different places I would rank these as some of the best ever. Keep up the good work and hope to see you again soon. Warning - if you are counting calories then you will need a brisk one hour walk to undo your indulgence but it is worth it !
