This is a lovely little traditional Japanese restaurant. If you enjoy fish, and are open to trying local, do stop by. It is a very limited menu though, and the focus is fish.

The staff are pleasant enough. The English menu rather non-descriptive. The simpler meals were OK but the sirloin was a disappointment. I asked for the meat to be cooked medium-well, but this was beyond the comprehension of the staff. The meat was served slightly seared and still mooing. I sent it back to the kitchen for additional grilling, but it came back as raw s before. Desserts were rather bland.

Finally found our okonomiyaki go-to place in Tokyo. Not easy to find in a quiet, mostly residential neighborhood. We walked into the wrong place at first but they said we needed Reservations. Glad they turned us away because we walked down the road and saw a hand written sign here saying “Sometaro”. Wear your nice socks since this is a traditional no-shoes place. An English menu is available & includes cooking instructions. You do the cooking here at your table, but they’ll help
if you need it. The okonomiyaki is made w/ batter, no noodles unlike Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki which is our favorite. But we really enjoyed this. The yakisoba was good, but we’ll come back for the okonomiyaki!

Delicious fresh, giant sized pastries and sweet breads ! Long lines, but worth the wait. Must try when you are around the Senjoji temple area.

I have lived in Tokyo for 12 years and am a very regular eater of Ramen and Tsukemen, and seriously, hand on my hear, I have never had a better Tsukemen in my life than at Tsukemen Michi Kameari Branch.
The soup broth is packed with so much deep flavour and the noodles themselves are incredibly tasty.
This place is pretty much always packed so expect to queue. Oh, and make sure you visit when they are actually serving Tsukemen. One of the days (i think it's mondays) they only serve Ramen, which is nice, but no where near as amazing as their Tsukemen. You can usually tell by the size of the queue - if it's long, then they are serving Tsukemen.

寅さんシリーズが続いていたときなら、柴又にいくといかにもな下町に来た、という感じがありましたが、今はそんな気持ちも薄れこの店も普通のうなぎやです。

A good ramen shop with basic ramen on offer with a few options to customize (toppings, size , etc) and good gyoza which were based on chicken but very tasty. Simple drinks menu (beer, sake, tea, softdrinks). Ramen was flavorful, broth was good, and toppings were plentiful. A satisfying , inexpensive meal. We arrived around 6 or so and were able to sit immediately but it is not a big place.

男はつらいよが終了した今、お客さんが少し減ったなと思います。有名な草だんごは、ヨモギの香りがして、甘さは控えめでおいしかったです。焼き団子は醤油がきいていて、みたらしでおいしくいただきました。
