We come to Greece three times a year from the U.S. as we have a Spitaki (little house) in Stoupa. We always eat at Kannas when we are in Kalamata. I love Greek food, but I want a change sometimes. I always have the pasta...MoreThank you very much!!!!! your review give us the strength to carry on!!!!!

The food is delicious! We shared greek appetizers and there were the best in our trip so far. The atmosphere was very calm at the moment because it is not located in the noisy street.
I totally recommend this place if you are looking for typical gourmet greek food.

The best pasta and the best Italian cuisine is only at one place, and that’s Da Francesco.
Magnificent place, lovely staff, and the most amazing variety of foods you’ll ever find.
If you want the best of Italy, get down to Da Francesco for the best experience of your life.

Trying to be a bistrot.Louder music with fine casual kitchen.
First of all this all day bar is a little treasure in Kalamata's city center! I really like the decoration which reminds something from the modern-retro Greece! Try the sliders and also have a look in the cocktail list! Have fun ♡

Greek local traditional cuisine with daily fresh dishes for lunch and warm dishes for dinner. Most of the day dishes finish early, but during the summer we are operating longer time and we prepare fresh dish such as mousaka, eggplant with cheese in the oven, fresh cooked vegetables , twice or three time per day.. Monday to Friday from 8 a.M. Till 11:30 p.M. , Saturday from 8 a.M. Till 7 p.M., Sunday is usually closed, but sometimes we open - occasionally. Call if you need more info.
This restaurant is in the city center. It seems very popular among the locals.
On our first visit we ordered beef ragu and chicken. For drinks we ordered beer and red wine. The dishes were tasteful and the beer ice-cold.
The second visit was a week later. We ordered lamb in tomato sauce and chicken filet with mashed potatoes. Once more the dishes were tasteful
Both times some dishes on the menu were not available because they were sold out during lunch. Maybe they should prepare more of the most popular dishes?
This is a nice, typical greek restaurant. Absolutely worth a visit.

I will start with the only negative about this place - it is almost impossible to find unless you are actually taken there by a local and being tucked away it has no seaside view. But who cares once who sample the food!
The owner, Kosta, is a very gracious host who recites the lengthy daily menu to you. Every ingredient is fresh and in season so there is no actual written menu - just what Kosta and his family have been able to source and cook on the day.
I go to this place every time I get to Kalamata and it never fails to impress. The choices are always extensive from fasting dishes, to vegetable dishes, meats, pastas and seafood of amazing taste and freshness.
The portions are huge - this is Greek home style cooking at its very best in a very relaxed and friendly family environment. So make sure you bring a BIG appetite. As an added bonus the prices are rock bottom so you can keep coming here again and again once you find out how to get here in the first place.
I could go on for a long time about this place but as someone wrote in one of the earlier reviews (in Greek), if I lived in Kalamata I would never eat at home - I would just come here every day.

Very polite and welcoming staff, excellent service, very direct and very personalized, pizza (margarita) was ok but base / was kinda dry and non tasty. Amatricciana was tasty and fresh. Pesto was not so tasty but pasta mista was really good. The best dish was very carpaccio, perhaps the best carpaccio I ever had. Overall it was pleasant and I would visit it again

Love this busy little place on the harbour. Only in the area for 5 nights, yet we were so impressed we ate here twice. Both times had great meals.

A very nice variety selection in food choices with daily specials, a great place for locals/travelers to get breakfast lunch and dinner. Mediterranean-European and American style menu, a wonderful assortment and fantastic desserts, coffees/tea & cocktails! Great food & atmosphere but the service needs improvement!
