I stayed in Juan Dólio for the better part of a week and had the pleasure of dining several times at El Meson Español. The food was truly outstanding. The calamari appetizer was world class, the caldereta de mariscos was outstanding. Service was good and the ambience was very nice. I highly recommend this place!

This restaurant has everything going for it. Location, ambiance, good bar and impeccable service. Except the food, the food is unconditionally bad, not not good for that price, not bad for resort town restaurant, just plain bad. I haven't eaten that oversalted overcooked and yet bland food in awhile. The best thing an owner can do it to fire the chef. Unless the chef is an owner, then no suggestions.

beach club, Embassy Suites Juan Dolio
The place is awesome to chill, to have a good time with friends. Minimum consumation 2500 pesos is very accurate for this chilling place. We enjoyed a lot with friends and family. Don't judge the food, it's ok even beeing some more expensive but ok. Just choose the right apetizers and enjoy the place.

Apparently, this Café has been in business for 20 years. We ordered a nice two egg breakfast with bacon, fresh hash-brown potatoes and one coffee included at a reasonable price. In addition to an all-day tasty breakfast menu, many other food options available for lunch and dinner. What's nicer than tasty food on a nice roadside patio? Located in the "Villas del Mar” area, right across from the Marbella condo complex.

We were staying at the Hospda Garden Suite in Juan Dolio and took a shuttle van to El Sueno. I highly recommend that you get there early (before 6pm) or make Reservations if going with a large party. The service is slow but you can be entertained by the live DJ or large Screen TV. A van should not cost more than $15 USD each way and a van will seat up to 8. Great food and just steps across from the local beach with nice views. BTW this is an Italian restaurant but they also have a good Latin Menu.

We waited several minutes to find out if they were open for dinner. Apparently the staff was down the street and looked like the owner had to find the waiter. Menu selection is very small, it was also in English for us which was nice. Several others arrived which appeared to be local folks stopped by while we waited and were all waited on quickly. I ordered white rice which was never given to me. We asked for a wine list which they didn't have but the did bring us a bottle of white wine. When we drove by last weekend this place was packed and looked fun. Tonight very different cliental all on the very scary side. First time I've been nervous out for dinner here.

Parrilla Argentina y Cocina Mediterránea. Excelente selección de vinos. Visítanos en Juan Dolio, RD.
Jorge and Javier will make you feel like home, at night is best to be in the Terrace but if you prefer a more quiet atmosphere you can stay inside the restaurant. Service is good, waitress are polite and friendly. I strongly recommend the churrasco, tenderloin, Flat meat, Also Jorge the Grill man recommend the best option they have available. If you like a good meat you can't miss this place!

We are a casual cuisine restaurant really close to the beach. We have vegetarian and vegan options, a children's menu, and we are petfriendly.
This shiny gem of a dining emporium is stunning is its excellence across all measures. The staff, led by Maribel, are warm, effusive in their friendliness, and supremely helpful in making us feel at ease, in selecting from the menu, and in generally enjoying ourselves. There is indoor as well as outdoor Seating. On this, our second visit, we sat on the ‘patio’, under the canopy. An early (~6:30 p.m.) dinner, we had no difficulty getting a table, and were seated immediately. This being our second visit, we had gravitated to the “specials board.” My Spanish not being encyclopedic, I stumbled around translating the items therein, but was arriving a comfortable place when Maribel came to my aid - her English is flawless, and her warm, friendly help got me the rest of the way to understanding what was on offer there. By the way, they offer menus in Spanish, and for the Spanish-language challenged, in English, as well. A young chap, whose name I am embarrassed to admit escapes me just now, took our drinks order, and shortly after he delivered it he and Maribel helped us decide on appetizers, mains, and vegetables. This evening my wife enjoyed a pasta dish - shrimp, mushrooms, bacon and more in an Alfredo sauce over fettuccini (other pasta were available as well), while I enjoyed a truly outstanding Chillo Frito (Fried Whole Red Snapper) and a Caesar Salad - one of my favorite seafood meals. Both of these were extremely tasty and enjoyable. For “postres” we enjoyed some crepes in a triple-sec sauce, with a vanilla ice cream scoop center for her, and a magnificent chocolate desert (a small warm dark chocolate cake, centered with warm dark chocolate pudding, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, all of this drizzled with multiple luscious sauces for accent). These meals were very different from and every bit as enjoyable as the meals we had on our previous visit, where we each ordered specials - Lamb Chops (huge portion, 5 thick and perfectly grilled chops!!) for my wife and Langostinas (again, huge - 8, count ‘em 8 halves, again grilled perfectly). Always a bonus for us, though this fact stands in the shadow of the graciousness of the service and the exquisiteness of the food, the prices here range from reasonable to downright inexpensive. This dining experience stands out in our experience of some 40 years of travel in much of Europe, the Americas, and the Caribbean as one of the truly finest, most memorable. We will return as often as we can, for as long as we can, and strongly encourage anyone who enjoys good food and pleasant company with the opportunity to visit, to do so without delay!

Very nice restaurant almost on the beach serving italian cusine and lot of seafood. Main dishes on Sunday were 450 pesos and lobster 750 pesos. Wide offering of sea food and fish. On the house antipasti like grilled aubergine, pepper, bread, sausages and tomato with mozzarella were served. Frutti di mare spaghetti were excellent, very nice tomato sauce and lot of seafood. Grilled lobsters were nice and fresh. You can sit on the beach or at least with excellent beach and sea view. Very professional and nice service. Good prices. You can find it from the beach sice or when walking by the Calle Princiapl by main beach.
