We stopped in last night as other restaurants are closed on Monday, and our inn proprietor assured us we would be happy. When we arrived and parked, I must admit we were a bit leery as it was not much from the outside. But what a nice surprise. We were warmly greeted by the owner and led to a lovely table overlooking the river. We had a delicious dinner of escargot, four cheese salad and amazing pizza. It was a great experience and reminded us to look further than the street side vision! Were we in the area again, we would not hesitate to return, this time for the inviting lasagna that lots of people had ordered.

We choose this place becuase it was in the middle of our trip to Spain, straight of the highway and next to some hotels... and it was so good, we reserved for our trip back home.
Don't expect any fancy tables or waiters... though there is indoor Seating, during summer everything happens outdoors on a big covered Terrace. The srvice is simple, but the food is great, ranging for oven-baked pizzas to real authentic local food. If you're only interested in a quick small bite, don't go there: the pizzas are huges, the portions of every other meal gigantic, including the ice-cream desserts. We discovered a local cheese which was excellent and some great house wine to go with it. Just make sure you reserve before you wonna go... local people tend to enjoy this restaurant as much as tourists, so it gets filled up pretty quickly.

We called 20 minutes in advance and they still had a table for us, so after a small walk threw town we made it to their terrase in the quiet little street where they are located.
Apetizer was a baby-squid with salad, main dish were kidneys with some steemed vegetables and to end that we had a plate of cheese (brie de meaux, compté 2 yrs, Saint-Nectaire 4months).
The whole dinnner was very enjoyable.
The waiter (and probably co-owner, I'm not sure) an excellent host!
The wine with the apetier a very nice Montgilet (white, 2012) and with the main course it was a "Petite Syrah" (Cevennes, 2013).
Affordable and nice.
My guess is you will not be dissapointed if you book a table here.

There is nowhere I would rather stop to dine (and therefore spend the night) between Northern France and our home in the Languedoc. Indeed there is nowhere near that home that comes near it.
3 outstanding courses plus a couple of sophisticated amuse-bouches and a pre-dessert for 32 Euros seems unbeatable value.
The welcome is exceptionally warm. Even the 3 year old son of the owners shakes hands with every diner before heading for his bed. (He's almost worth the booking on his own!)
Not for the first time, we arrived exhausted and left on an absolute high!

We ate here during a weekend in the region. Although there was nothing vegetarian on the menu, the chef prepared us an exquisite five course meal, including soup, salad and risotto, with an excellent cheese board and delicious lemon tart dessert. Washed down with a fine red Burgundy wine this was a meal to remember. It’s rare to find such “haute cuisine” vegetarian food in France, or such a sympathetic chef willing to go out of his way to adapt his menu and make it. The candlelit ambiance is relaxed and chic; the service friendly and efficient. This restaurant is highly recommended.

This was the second time we had eaten here and the food and service wes just as good as the previous visit. The restaurant is nicely appointed in a traditional country style. There are a choice of set meals and the mid price is excellent value with decent choices on the menu. The style of cuisine is what I would call 'local, homely and unpretentious'. The house wine was very passable too. All in all great value and well worth a try.

this little restaurant is tucked away in a small street near the church in Issoire and although it does not look special, we had a great meal. There are set menus from 25 euros with a couple of choices for each course. We had the most wonderful smoked salmon and rocket starter, with very generous amounts of salmon, then tender slices of pork with a helping of mixed vegetables, then a delicious raspberry tart with zesty citrus sorbet. The waitress was friendly and attentive and took the trouble to give us tips on which wine would suit our food best. I would really recommend this restaurant.

We ate here in August 2016 for the second time and it was as good as before. The burgers are proper meat, cooked well and lots of variety.
There is a good selection of beers and also pool tables and a bowling alley.
The place looks nothing from the outside but it is well decorated in an American style inside
Its not the cheapest but a great little place right next to the motorway, ideal for a stop off
