Invercargill (Māori: Waihōpai) is the southernmost and westernmost city in New Zealand, and one of the southernmost cities in the world. It is the commercial centre of the Southland region. It lies in the heart of the wide expanse of the Southland Plains on the Oreti or New River some 18 km north of Bluff, which is the southernmost town in the South Island. It sits amid rich farmland that is bordered by large areas of conservation land and marine reserves, including Fiordland National Park covering the south-west corner of the South Island and the Catlins coastal region.

There is gathering area by the bar where you can await or meet friends. Service is pleasant. There is a varied menu with regional favourites such as blue cod, Bluff oysters, green - lipped mussels and venison. Afterwards relax over dessert or coffee.

We had a tasty dinner here, very good atmosphere and lovely staff. The food looked and tasted amazing. The fish was awesome and my vegetarian dish was full of flavour. Unfortunately we didn't have room for desert, it looked and sounded very tempting. We enjoyed our stay.

Local cusine cooked fresh daily, bursting with flavour and generous serves. Followed by great service and pleasant clean decor.
We went for a work lunch. The staff were attentive, the meals were sizeable and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Good honest food and value. Always tasty and offering something a bit different. Not too pretentious . I love this place and I’m an older person.
Staff have good temperament and not too phased by other human frailties.
Always fairly priced. Don’t expect drinks to be too exotic . Some local brews.

If it ain't broke why try to fix it.New chef has changed a few dishes that's fine but the blue cod has gone from one of the best in town to mediocre. Not sure if less is best will work in Invercargill all the ILT meals are getting smaller,Less real vegetables, the crispy pork is the size of a matchbox with two soggy bits of potato norman. What happened to the nice sides ?Ilt are trying to get you to add sides and still charge the old prices for less.

Bombay Palace is one of the finest destination for authentic Indian Food, The decor is very modern & the menu is tantalizing.Bollywood music & much more..........
We were a last minute party of 16. The staff rearranged the tables and were ready for us very quickly. The menu was comprehensive, the food well prepared and tasty. If there is any complaint is that it took an hour after ordering to be served.

We ate here a few years ago when we were visiting Invercargill so we thought we would try it again. The Manager and staff are superb. We ate here both nights we were in Invercargill as we enjoyed the food so much. The experience was made even better by our waiter, Ben, who must be the fastest waiter ever seen. He kept us entertained and amused, recommended wines and generally looked after us very well. Thank you everyone for two great evenings.

Great pub with large dining restuarant - good varied menu and on the main shopping street in Invercargill - usually pretty busy place.
We stopped here for a late dinner on the way from the airport to Te Anau. The staff were hospitable and friendly, the food and drinks good. The original old bar is amazing solid wood and more than a hundred years old! Very welcoming place....MoreThanks for calling in on your way through. I hope the rest of your stay in N.Z had a similar effect.

We have a lovely warm and inviting restaurant. We use all locally sourced product with very generous servings with an emphasis on the meat portion of the meal. Our steaks are 250gms up to the "Donald Trump Choker", which is 500gm and cooked slowly over 20 hours. We use fresh Blue Cod and locally caught wild Venison. Buster Crabb is the best choice
We were staying up the road, and the receptionist gave us a discount card and a recommendation for this place. Ordinarily I would have been suspicious of such and arrangement, but we were very pleasantly surprised. Great meal, excellent service, not cheap but a great experience.
