We had the crab salad. As fresh as you can get. Great view from the table outside. Don't serve food after 4pm though. Shame. Where also in the night before for a few pints. Trad music was on. Great atmosphere.

Recently named as one of the 'Top 100 Places to Eat' in Ireland (The Irish Times, 2017). Serving homemade bakery, tea/coffee and lunches using the fresh produce of the family farm and selected local suppliers. "Treating your family like our own"

Small intimate restaurant overlooking the sea on the west side of Inisheer renowned for beautiful sunsets, with an a la carte menu catering to our room guests and a small number of Reservations nightly. All our food is prepared in house with an emphasis on simplicity and island seafood. Suitable for adults seeking peace and tranquillity away from the rush of sophisticated city life
We pre booked this restaurant and thought it would be the highlight of our visit to Inis oirr.
We were both disappointed. The food was very good. But the place lacked warmth and care. The ambiance and atmosphere was lacking. Our meal was served very fast and it was very clear we were not welcome to linger. Our 7.30 pm reservation finished promptly by 9pm
We both had eaten before here and loved it.
So we were disappointed overall. On the island there is an unhurried pace to all aspects of life.
My guess is that maybe staff in South Aran are tired which is a pity as this once was a buzzing little place full of welcome.

I didn't eat here as it was closed when I got there but I took a picture of the menu as other visitors on the island had told me they found it very good and it looked clean, a short delightful walk up from the pier along the coast road towards the air strip. It serves tradti4onal stuff, pizzas etc., not home made like you get in other places on the island.

This has to be one of the best places I have ever eaten shellfish. Aine and Caomhán Ó Gríofa serve the best and freshest seafood available. Is freshly caught off the island daily, Inisheer, delivered and prepared for the lucky guests. This Café and B&B is in the top bracket of home-cooked food. It is not really advertised, just word of mouth locally. I was so amazed at the fresh crab and fresh lobster that I find it difficult to do it justice in a review. The prices are just unbelievably inexpensive.
