Pricey but a wonderful view of the sea and great food. The food is more imaginative than regular Greek fare.

If you're looking for a traditional home cooked meal this is the place for you. The food is good but the portions aren't huge for the price.

We tried many restaurants while on Hydra, but ended up coming to this one most times for our supper.
The food is delicious, traditional and generous portions .
It’s location is in a small square about 10minutes from the harbor.
Is a must if you are into how Greek food should be and how I used to remember in 70s !

My husband and I enjoyed the fried calamari, Cretan salad, local white wine, and ouzo all for €38. The staff was friendly and the views were great.

Tucked away on a quaint alleyway opposite the port, this is a great place for savoury or sweet crepes & superb coffee. There's a big choice of fillings & crepes are prepared to order in front of you. They're designed to take-away but a handful of tables outside & one or two within mean you can eat in if you want to. I wouldn't normally review such a casual spot but we were so charmed by the lovely hard working proprietor (?) & very taken with the excellent coffee (in addition to the fab crepes).

We had seabream for two done over their wood fired grill (no gas as in all the other places) and what a wonderful difference. That fish had been alive and swimming only a few hours before! This small hands on taverna also had superb beer roots and greens, marinated anchovies (not salty), fava split pea spread and wood fire grilled vegetables all truly our favorite in 4 days. The baklava seemed more flavorful in a subtle way. The rooftop area was charming and we watched the setting sunlight against that west facing mountain. We could also see five horses come down a mountain path to town way in the distance. Service is nicely attentive. A wonderful experience. If you wait till nine to come you better reserve ahead. It fills quickly at 8:15.

Great for people watching as its right next to where the ferry docks. Quick service with good quality Greek food at reasonable prices.

As many of the other reviewers have noted, this place is not easy to find (but far from impossible). We were there two years ago and again last week and were just as impressed the second time. Service was a little slow but very friendly and helpful; we were not rushing. The food is excellent with a great variety of dishes. The souvlaki is very tender and some of the best we have had in Greece. The garden is very cosy and a nice retreat from the sun.

We ate here based on Rick Steves recommendations and we were not disappointed. The 'grilled vegetables' were done perfectly. We then had the swordfish, which was exemplary. What is truly nice about this restaurant is that they 'stage' the food as you eat it. Everything does NOT come at once Which is a BIG PLUS. Views of the Port are good but not exemplary.
The wait staff is better than very good! They treat you as a VALUED customer not as a 'mark'.
We loved this place!
