A reasonable place normally for breakfast and lunch and reasonably veggie friendly. Today is my last visit here however.
We ordered our food , came in reasonable time. My dish was fine. Son ordered fish goujons but got chicken ones. No big deal you may think but he's a pescatarian (medically) and has never eaten chicken. Alerted a staff member who did not seem overly bothered but changed the dish after he had a mouthful sadly. When returned said that mistake was due to having own battered chicken and fish goujons...?! That may well be the case but it's for a restaurant to keep them separate. Also when the fish 'goujons ' replacement came they were fish fingers that the Team member claimed they battered themselves...? No chance.
My son could not eat much beyond some of the salad only , he was too freaked having eaten chicken and the plate went back with most if the food on the plate and as the staff don't do any check backs here they just took the plates away.
At bill payment I expressed surprise at being charge for his meal. The servers reply was that the kitchen 'still made the dish and not our problem your son didn't eat it'. Well thanks for nothing and your huge empathy for trying to poison my son. An apology would have been something but not this.
Had it been say a religious eating issue I wonder if there would have been more of a reaction. It's not our / my son's fault he can't eat meat just fish (occasionally at best normally veggie). This place is rude and has poor practices in the kitchen to get meats mixed up and horrible customer service skills to talk to me like a muppet.
Will never return

We have visited The Pheasant Inn on several occasions, the last being in December for lunch. The pub was extremely busy (23rd December) and included some large parties but the staff coped admirably. Being just two of us we thought we might suffer due to the large parties, but this most certainly wasn't the case.
We had the works, i.e. fizz to start, three courses with wine then port with our cheese and finally I had a liqueur coffee. At this stage I'm afraid I can't remember exactly what we ate but I know it was superb in every way. The staff was very efficient, yet there was no rush or long wait. All in all it was a perfect start to our Christmas break.
I can't recommend this pub highly enough and my only regret is that we live about two hours away so can't visit as often as we would like.

Positioned on the River Great Ouse our stunning country pub is the perfect location to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A converted mill, our unique building is filled with cosy corners, comfy armchairs, open log fires and boasts an impressive dining room. Chef's freshly prepared menu and our carefully selected wines, ales and lagers are served daily from lunch right through until dinner.
Visited for late lunch with family which included a nearly 2 year old!
The restaurant was very busy even though it was 4 o clock which is a recommendation in itself I guess.
The staff although obviously busy were very professional and friendly and even though it was quite a wait,it was acceptable and the food was nicely presented
The only complaint was the potholes on the entrance road which were very deep.
I’m sure that the land is probably not the restaurants responsibility but it does need sorting as I’m not sure I’d want to risk going down there with my lovely car again !

We ate here on Saturday evening with family and friends. I must say everything was first class, from start to finish. Great service, fabulous for and reasonably priced too.

Book an early sitting and enjoy a sumptuous duck parcel and ample delicious main course . Have a late sitting and still enjoy a sumptuous duck parcel but the main course beef begins to run out and portion control goals awry. Should not happen In the best eating establishment.

we went for sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago warm welcome and surroundings are very nice, starter & main course was very nice we asked for the dessert menu which arrived quickly we then sat there for 15 mins waiting for some one to take our order. we decided to leave which took the edge off a nice lunch. the following week we booked for the steak night arrived at 6pm was told that they only had 3 rump steaks left which we found very odd for a steak night at 6pm, we ordered not the rump and the steaks were lovely ordered dessert and was told they run out of apple pie. again just took the edge off a nice evening.

Have not had the opportunity to go for a while and seeing a couple of new faces though it may not be the same .
No worries still as good as ever - Great service from friendly polite staff - Good sizes portions cooked to perfection and always fresh and nice and hot .
Only issue - I wish they had a Delivery service but can’t have it all ways.

Another visit, yet again amazing high quality food and outstanding service from Mark and his staff. The Valentine's menu was class from start to finish and the restaurant decorated to suit the occasion. This really is the only place to be eating, it's an amazing place which is a total credit to Mark and his hard working staff. We are already booked in for March for steak night. If your local this place is a must, if your not local this place is also a must and we well worth any journey. You will not be disappointed.

The Exhibition Pub, Restaurant and Bar in Godmanchester, near Huntingdon is a family run pub with a warm, friendly & welcoming atmosphere. With locally sourced ingredients and an award winning head chef, we are a great place to eat. We have lunch, dinner & Sunday menus, bar pizzas & snacks, delicious puddings, guest real ales and a fabulous wine list. Join us & enjoy.
I have gluten allergy and was given gluten despite constantly checking what I could eat. This resulted in a reaction which could so easily have been avoided. The waitress had no idea what food I could eat and told me the salad dressing was gluten free but it wasn't. The food choice is very limited anyway if you can't eat gluten and no information is given on the menus. In my opinion poor allergy training makes this an unsafe place for allergy sufferers to eat with any confidence that they will be safe. AVOID!!

We met some friends here for Christmas dinner and what a meal it was. Very well cooked, large generous portions and polite service. Real Turkey not those catering joints and the biggest yorkies I have ever seen. What more could friends want when catching up.
