Things to do in Hissarya

A cozy restaurant offering indoor and garden settings where customers may feel the subtle small-town spirit, the tasty dishes of both Bulgarian and European specialties and fine wines shared with family and friends, all that coupled with the sounds of leisure music. Find us on Facebook.
Although all of the restaurants we have visited in Hissarya offer very good food, have very good service and prices are more than competitive, Restaurant "Natsional" is, no doubt, top notch.
Nice ambience, a bit vintage decoration, in addition to the excellent food and service, contributes to the unforgettable experience when you dine at this restaurant.
The portions are not too big, smaller than in the other restaurants in Hissarya, but the taste and the quality of food compensates it all. The food is typical Bulgarian / European, well balanced with regard to the spices and seasonings, perfectly cooked, using the best ingredients which you can feel with your palate. You definitely have to try the veal!
Service is professional, attentive and fast - dishes come in no more than 15-20 minutes.
There is a "kids corner" where children can play and draw to keep them away from running inside the restaurant - which is often hardly achievable :).
The restaurant is usually full, so if you want to visit it and enjoy the food they offer, it is mindful to book a couple of days in advance.
Highly recommended!

Great restaurant - very cousy athmosphere, beautiful garden - great landscape architecture, children playgroung area
Food is ok. Service is ok. Not expensive. No luxury. Central in the town. Popular for Bulgarian. Plays popular bulgarien music a bit to loud for my taste.

The restaurant now is called Provance but its style and menu remained unchanged. The quality of the food is very high but what makes it unforgettable is the garden. Weather providing don't miss the chance to take a table outside.

We went to "Toscana" twice during our stay in Hissarya and we really enjoyed it.
The first time we were searching for a place for dinner but all were full, including this restaurant but they put us at the table for the staff which offers alot of privacy as it is tucked away.
The staff was very helpful and kind, the service was fast. The food is delicious and it's typically Italian. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you get there. It was 3 of us and both times we had 2 salads, 2 mains, an appetizer, 3 desserts and drinks (mineral water, juice, rakiya (brandy) and a bottle of wine) - all totalling around 80 leva (about 40 €). The pizzas taste like authentic Italian - soft crust and generous topping. I tried also one of the fish dishes - salmon with ratatouille, which was made with a twist too.
We will surely visit "Toscana" again next time we come to Hissarya!

The "Balkan" restaurant was located very close to our hotel and we went there for a dinner. Nice ambience, traditionally Bulgarian with the folk table cloths, etc. The food is also very delicious and national Bulgarian cuisine. Although the restaurant was full, the service was quite fast. Anyway, the staff were somewhat indifferent but efficient. The prices are low and inexpensive, and the portions are very big (between 450-600 grams). We were 3 of us and we paid 80 leva (about 40 €) for 2 salads, 2 appetizers, 2 mains (one of which we shared with my wife due to its big size), 3 desserts and drinks, including a bottle of red wine.
There are quite many tables (there is even a small Terrace inside the restaurant) but it may be very crowded, especially during weekends. That's why, you'd better make a reservation.

We stumbled upon this nice restaurant while strolling the area around our hotel and decided to give it a try. As it was close to the New Year's Eve, the whole restaurant was full. They have some outdoor Seating just across the street, kinda summer garden, which can be covered, heated and used during winter - it was completely full too. Service was impeccable, it was hard to understand how they could manage to attend all the tables.
The choice of food encompasses Bulgarian and European cuisines with some Asian dishes, like "Chinese chicken" which our son tried (although not purely Chinese, it did have the Chinese touch with regard to texture and taste), "Adana kebab", Oriental salad, Arabic salad, etc. Do not overlook the "Armenian salad" and the "Bansko chicken spindle". The wine list with quality Bulgarian wines deserves attention as well. The food was tasty and well presented, and the prices are very "customer-friendly" (actually they are similar at almost all the restaurants in Hissarya).
Nice, relaxing ambience, beautiful, Roman-like wall-paintings finely tuned with the whole concept of the town of Hissarya.
Recommended! We will come back!

We used to visit only the restaurants listed in the TripAdvisor when we were coming to Hissarya before but this time we decided to go to another place to eat.
"Loven Dom", not so conspicuously located like the well-known restaurants in Hissarya, was a very good find.
The menu offers quite a variety of salads, appetizers, main dishes with chicken and pork, and meats from the grill. You can also try some game like deer, roe-deer, pheasant and quails. The food was delicious and tasted like home-made. A good selection of drinks and very good Bulgarian wines to help you wash down the big portions.
With regard to the service, waiting time was reasonable although there were a lot of people and a big group of about 15 people.
There are some hunting trophies on the walls. Nothing special as ambience but with a nice company and good food it didn't matter much! During warm seasons, people can enjoy their meals in the open summer garden.
Prices are cheap like most of the other restaurants in town.
