Sunbathing, al fresco dining and late-night discos are a way of life in Hammamet, the Tunisian St-Tropez. Located on the fertile Cap Bon Peninsula, about 40 miles south of Tunis, the bayfront resort is surrounded by verdant hills and citrus groves. When not basking on Hammamet Beach, browse the markets for local pottery or wander through the medina (old city) with walls that date to 1500. Summer brings festival fever to the city with plenty of music and theatrical offerings.

A great option to eat out in Hammamet - reasonable prices and good service in a stunning outdoor courtyard setting with a huge central Eucalyptus widdowmaker tree. The food is generally good, but not exceptional. The services was fast and efficient, and the waiter took note of our dietary needs without any fuss. I would go back with friends anytime - we had a great evening. Seating tip - avoid sitting under the tree.

Situated, midway, along a row of restaurants in the Marina, the Voilier (the sail boat) turned out to be as good as most people wrote about it. Really fiendly, cheerful and efficient waiters and an owner who visits every evening and 'walks the tables' introducing himself to diners. You can eat outside or inside, but beware if outside as you are pestered by cats, we had eight around our table one night. The staff do their best to chase them away but stupid diners do feed them tip-bits, this only encouraging them. Seeing this restaurant is by far the most popular in the row, the cats know that they are hopefully on the a good thing. The inside is tastefully decorated and comfortable. The food is excellent with a reasonable menu to chose from, 'mixed sea food on a mirrored plate' and 'sea food gratin' (both starters) are recommended and their steaks are big and tasty. All food is well cooked and presented and you get complimentary entree, a sorbet and mint tea at the end. Two main courses and a good bottle of local wine (Magon Rose is nice) costs £30 to £40, dependant on what you chose, credit cards are accepted. Being on a B&B tariff in our hotel we ate out every night and chose to eat here 5 nights out of 14 evenings, it was that good, and had a great meal everytime. Well worth a visit.

Restaurant deux fourchettes classé touristique cuisine Tunisienne, méditerranéenne, poissons, et fruit de mer.
The Spaghetti Bolognese must be the best in Hammamet. Along with the Mornag wines friendly smiles and excellent service. There is a good choice on the menu there. Ive tried the grilled lamb chops too. They were the best. The embience is good too and you can sit in the garden under the olive trees. They have a resident band play there on nights and it can be very nice indeed. Always popular this place and well worth a visit while in Hammamet.

Lovely decor, good music and service. Awful food. Me and my friend opted for Bouillabaisse. The fish was hard and tasteless, obviously a long period of freezing. it was very badly cleaned of bones, not the waiter's fault, but the bones were simply glued to the flesh ... and there were so many of them. The soup had all the taste of cube Bouillon, and not of fresh fish. We did not complain but just left much of the food in the plate and walked out after paying. Not one word from the staff of why we left nearly all the food in the plate!! Please do not even try the dish. It is simply awful. Never ever tasted such horrible food in my life!

Beautiful restaurant with fantastic views. When booking ask for a window table as these go quickly. Menu choice superb and service second to none. We visited Dar Franco late on a Saturday evening during the very busy summer season. The restaurant was full but in spite of this the service was excellent. Our dinner itself was nothing out of this world but Dar Franco's carpaccios and filet steaks (simply grilled or accompaned with one of the several sauces) are always a safe bet and we went home full of good food and wine. .

We visited this restaurant with a good Tunisian friend in February 2015. The restaurant is lovely inside and we were given a table at the front overlooking the sea. We visited for lunch on recommendation and we were not disappointed. The waiter was very polite and attentive. The food as fresh and delicious, I would recommend the seafood pizza. I just wish our hotel food had been as good ! I would not hesitate to return on our next trip. I expect in high season you would need to make a reservation.

Two years since we ate there, but we're coming back in a week and looking forward to eating here, even though we are all-inclusive at a very highly rated hotel!
The food (mainly pasta, pizza and seafood is beautiful and so very cheap. No alcohol served but you can have a beer or wine in the Brau House next door!
The staff are very efficient and friendly and the food is cooked in front of you.
My husband's recommendation is the seafood spaghetti.
See you in a week!

I like this cafe. It is good to kick back a bit and enjoy people passing by. It is a cafe, and it offers hot and cold drinks. They always have fresh orange and strawberry juice. It is a good place to enjoy the crowd and check out people strolling to the main square of downtown.
The highlight is the shop next door. Lots of good quality sweets! Enjoy! They keep having different things. I find myself compelled to try whatever they offer, and I was never disappointed!
