Grosuplje (pronounced [ɡɾɔˈsùːpljɛ] ( listen); German: Großlupp) is a town in central Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Grosuplje. It lies just south of the capital Ljubljana in the traditional region of Lower Carniola. It is now included in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.

As it was a Sunday night (a usually off-night and often finding restaurants closed) we were fortunate to have the hotel restaurant open for us. Simon, our server, was gracious, knowledgable, and incredibly helpful. The menu is designed around seasonal and fresh, local foods. Simon guided us to Slovenian wines for our dinner, beginning with the Slovenian 'bubbly wine', which was delicious. We shared a bottle of local Chardonnay, which was quite to our liking. To start, we each ordered a freshly made salad of local spinach and rocket lettuce with small amounts of cucumbers, red peppers, tomatoes, and radishes served with a choice of olive oil or pumpkin seed oil (delicious!) and either balsamic or white vinegar. The lettuces tasted as if they had just been picked.
For dinner, hubby chose the wild venison (not farmed raised), a large portion of deep, richly flavored and tender meat. Served alongside was a wine poached pear and celery mash. Filling, unusually delicious, and satisfying. I had the oven baked sea bass served with potatoes and assorted fresh vegetables with a light white sauce. The meal was beautifully served and perfectly prepared, satisfying and delicious.
Simon brought us each an after dinner drink: grappa for my husband and a fruit liquor for me--as we were celebrating my birthday.
Simon is an incredible young man and the Hotel CUBO is fortunate to have him on staff. Thank you for making our first night in Ljubljana a very welcoming one, Simon!

Cozy and inviting cafe specializing in green tea (although the coffee is good too). The service here is exceptional. The cafe was totally crowded, and the sole waiter was able to service everyone in a timely and efficient manner. Try the Matcha Tiramisu. I loved it. BTW: excellent Wifi connection as well.

This place is right next door to the town hall , they have a very extensive range of local wines at various prices to either take home or drink in . They also serve cold meats , cheese and oysters . The only negative is that we had 4 glasses of wine and when we got the bill they charge by .1 of a litre and there is no way we had a tenth of a litre in each glass so be wary .

On Valentine's eve the four of us had sat down at Cacao and ordered 1 hot lemonade, 1 herbal tea, 1 Irish coffee and 1 glas of Moselle (malvasija). The order was quickly delivered alas the glas of wine was not of the quality our friend was used to in this place. After smelling the cork and tasting the wine the four of us came to the same conclusion: the wine was spoiled - the smell and taste was of contaminated (rotten) cork. When the wine was rejected the waiter was rude, unfriendly and full of excuses. We ordered another glas from a different bottle but the waiter stated that was the last bottle in stock. Strange coincidence. We paid an left swearing that we will no longer frequent the place. I was in wine trade for many years and I accept that from time to time some product could be off alas it was the attitude of the waiter that made us deicide to abandon visiting the place in the future. Shame as the location is rather pleasant and in the centre of the city. Still, there are many other excellent wine outlets in the City of Ljubljana

Came here based on the reviews on tripadvisor and google. A bit disappointed really. We had the 4 courses lunch menu, not much surprise from the menu, average food. Bread is surprisingly nice though. Restaurant might need to improve their ventilation, however we sat quite close to the kitchen, and the kitchen door was open.

A place for meat lovers though it has to be said that their grilled bread is probably the best bread in Slovenia. Very friendly staff and good service even though we visited on a very busy Friday night. As always in Slovenia excellent Slovenian wines! We are the mixed grill platter which was great just make sure to order it with the fillet of Colt which is really tasty

Was here for the second time with business colleagues. Restaurant is situated in one of the castle towers with amazing view on Ljubljana.
The space is well designed with very warm-feeling interior. The tables were really neatly prepared and all food served with a touch of design.
The food (7-course menu) tasted very good and I must say that the service was top class. Usually in this kind of restaurants service is to "artificial" I would say cold but every single waiter here was warm and attentive which makes the difference. First time hear I was a bit disappointed but second time they have done good job!
Definitely worth trying.

We offer delicious breakfast and lunches, to satisfy meat, fish and vegetarian lovers. The food is FRESH, HEALTHY and prepared from an open plan kitchen. Food and drinks are prepared and served by YOUTH who have not finished formal education and young people with disability. They are trained to become more employable. Recently we have spiced up our restaurant with REUSED collection of cups, plates and glasses. We are located just a few steps from a Central Market and Ljubljana Castle Funicular.

Very generous portion sizes, extremely reasonable prices, appealing presentation, no long waits for food to arrive. My favorite is lamb shank!
