Grissini and olive oil with bread was goos as well as the twice obtained local cheese platter. The place was well lit (barber shop standard) which we very mch liked and the clientele was in dissonant character with the slightly urban chic trendy penchant. The waiter-runner was absolutely first class. The buffalo, minimalist pasta and a brothy variety were but the last far from writing home about. No fried stuff, spaghetti or pizza was pointedly confirmed which we did not like. Miscasting. There was an undeclared fine dining orientation. Good area in the historic town where the establishment is generously located with vista in the daylight when you can enjoy the setting of the cavy town.

Located in a nice landscape in the heart of the old part of the town, this lovely intimate restaurant offers to its guests excellent fresh and quality regional food. The menu is rich and offers a great variety of dishes. It travels the authentic Apulian route, going from flavorful fish to unmissable "tagliolini al tartufo".Please don't forget the dessert!
And taste "nocino" and "finocchietto". Staff is nice and friendly.

Recommended by a foodie friend with the line "dont leave Puglia without travelling to Gravina to eat here" we did, OMG. Didn't select from the menu left it to Chef Franco and two pasta's and five anti pasta's later I am so glad we travelled from Martina Franca for this experience
We will be back
Make sure you have GPS its tucked away down a side street but well worth the trip.
Only 20 minutes from Matera

Total gem. We came in late and though the kitchen was closing our lovely waitress proceeded to bring us a stellar selection of local antipasti served with their home-made bread (with sesame and linseeds). Then came delicious mains including pan cotto (local delicacy of fried bread in vegetables and potatoes), entrecota al ferri, followed by local pastries and succulent coffee. Our waitress pre-empted our every need and completely exceeded expectations. Brilliant. I want a granny from Gravina

What a find! This restaurant specialises in sea food and local Gravina dishes. We four visited on a Sunday not sure what to expect. There was a set lunch with wine for €20 but we choose the anti pasta and either mixed fish or lamb for the main course, and the price was not very much more. I have rarely in my many years eating in the south of Italy had such a wonderful selection of anti-pasta - many I had never seen before. How we managed to eat our main course is a mystery! But both the fish and the meat looked and tasted so well, we cleaned our plates. The house wine was excellent and the price was a steal. The location is a side street and you may need to seek help to find but it is well worth the search.

simply one of the best ice creams I had ever had. We liked it so much we went back for more after our dinner. The portions are generous and the prices incredibly low. Just remember to go hungry because you would want to try them all (and they a large selections of ice creams, including several of vegan options). And this place looks good too :)

Con Gusto is an italian restaurant, located very close to the old town centre of the beautiful Gravina In Puglia. Since 2005 Con Gusto has one goal: offering customers delicious food & wine, in a mix of refinement in the representation of the dish, accuracy in the choice of ingredients and love for the typical products of the native land. All seasoned with enough passion and a dash of daring culinary fusion.
My archaeological colleagues and I spent an truly delightful evening in this ristorante. I have eaten in many restaurants in Gravina in Puglia during the last four summers, because I am conducting research there. And there are many excellent restaurants in Gravina as well. Most have selections from the Mare (seafood) or Terra (land animals). Most have selections for vegetarians as well. The foods all tend to be unique to the region with their own special touches. The Ristorante Congusto was especially nice because the portions were such that you could both enjoy the food without being blotted. Unfortunately, many of the ristorantes and osterias in the area feed you so much that the enjoyment begins to fade. The portions in the Ristorante Congusto were large enough to provide plenty to satisfy the palate as well as the stomach. The piece de resistance (final touch to top it off were the homemade lemoncello and oregano liqueurs. Oregano you say!!!! No it was excellent! I encourage any of you visiting the area to visit this ristorante, and others in Gravina, especially those of you who will be in the region for the 2019 celebration of Matera as culture capital of Europe.
