Visited for a light lunch, very nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble and very attentive without being overbearing. Lovely sandwiches and vegetable crisps, very fresh. And the crayfish salad was also pleasant. Add to this a few biscuits and a water...MoreHi, Thank you very much for your wonderful review! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our food. Paul and Gwyneth (owners) have recently taken over the management of The Squirrel and have put a lot of effort into creating something very special that will rival any of the other pubs around the area. The food is fantastic, we have great chefs that produce a great food offering. The Gardens look fantastic, with blooms of flowers all over the place. We have created a band stand area, that is great for parties, BBQ`s or just somewhere to sit and eat. We now have a garden BBQ area as well. The pub has been refurbished and looks great,!! We also have a great range of ales, wines, bar snacks and soft drinks available and have 8 ensuite letting rooms from as little as £55
Fed up with chain restaurant pizzas, head office prepared gloop or charmless children serving you (you awright there?) then do give The Squirrel a go. We had an excellent light lunch on a Monday with friendly service, comfortable clean environment (the toilets were clean -...MoreThank you Michael for taking the time to write such a fantastic review. We are so glad that you had a good time and enjoyed what we do at The Squirrel. Kind regards from all at The Squirrel.

Food was good if you chose the right thing! Burger was amazing as was the Sunday roast but tempura prawns was disappointing - I chose this starter as a main - mistake! Son-inlaw had a very disappoinying and uninteresting chicken salad - even had to ask for the tomatoes!
Prices are a little high but given the location etc will revisit!

The staff worked very hard at making you welcome. They were chatty and ensured you had all you needed with each course. The log fires in this old pub are a lovely, traditional touch.
The helpings are very good but the roast potatoes were a huge disappointment - not sure how they had been cooked but very hard. The whitebait started was a very good size and delicious. I would go back for another meal as the service was very good, nice setting and for Surrey not badly priced.

We visited The Refectory on a Friday lunch time booked for 12.30, with a group of six friends and all much enjoyed our three course lunch, and at a reasonable price, service was a bit slow, and they apologised, but it was not a problem to us as we were in good company, and in no hurry, the staff were very polite which made the experience eating here a joy. we will for sure make a return visit.

We had a lot of expectations because a lot of people recommended this place.
It was ok but we were expecting more. Pizza quite tasty but not particularly good the dough.
My partner had the seafood pasta which was ok a part from but the prawns weren't nice.
Coffee is nice!

Perched on the banks of the River Wey in the charming Surrey village of Lower Eashing you will find the Stag on the River Pub and Inn.A regular haunt for shooters and hunters in years gone by, The Stag on the River has given rest to many a weary soul filling them with local tales, fine ales and hearty food. The tradition remains the same; our infinite passion for great beer and proper rustic food made from the best local ingredients.Come visit us, you will be warmly greeted with the very best that a great English pub can offer
Friday lunch for two. Booking online was easy. Beautiful setting. Reasonable size car park soon fills.
Entry through the bar area presents an excellent choice of beers and, on the top shelf, many prestige gins. There are two comfortable eating areas with a welcoming fire.
Serving staff were friendly and we appreciated a bottle of water that arrived without asking. Good pub 'fixed' menu, a set menu (£14 for two courses) and a Daily Special blackboard gave plenty of choice. The set menu was very good value, but the (excellent crumble) dessert took ages to arrive. This was probably due to high workload in the kitchen. (We almost left as it took so long). The rhubarb and apple crumble, however was spot on.
Steak and dark ale pie was a level above other examples eaten in pubs. Well done.
I can see why this establishment is deservedly popular.

The Crown Inn Chiddingfold, Condé Nast Johansens Most Excellent Inn in Great Britain 2010 and awarded Recommended Status for 2011. An idyllic English pub, The Crown Inn nestles in a quiet corner of the picture-perfect village green of Chiddingfold in Surrey. Totally refurbished, the olde world charm of the property has been lovingly maintained and sympathetically blended with a more sophisticated and contemporary decor. Beautiful stained-glass windows provide a stunning backdrop to our dining rooms, whilst our downstairs bar has an informal ambience. Our AA coveted 5 Stars has been awarded again in 2013 with the added bonus of a yellow star award, to sit alongside our 'Highly Commended status' for 2013. We are proud to be in the top 10% of only 11 Inns in England.
We booked a table in the restaurant for my mums Birthday. Good Sunday menu and friendly service. Food was hot and fresh and very tasty. Good sized portions. The pub is very clean and the toilets were also very clean. We will definitely return. Thank you Crown Inn

Beautifully set country pub that serves freshly cooked food, accompanied with impeccable customer service.
Fantastic service and the best roast beef I have ever had. The value for money and portion size is fantastic. Too full to move. Lovely little gem in the country side. You must try Sunday lunch here if you haven't already. Can't wait to come back soon for dinner. Thanks guys.

Cafe Mila is located in Godalming just off the High Street, and serves fresh, home-made meals, cakes, sandwiches & snacks, quality coffees & teas and wines in a comfortable, inviting space with outside Seating, free wi-fi and quiet upstairs area.
Mila hits the spot in Godalming being a coffee shop with more about it than the chains but less formal and quicker than the many restaurants. The problem is that it is very busy! Downstairs was a mass of pushchairs with young mums and dads that lunch and upstairs lots of ladies and a few men having completed yoga were competing to be heard ! Nice to see a busy place and people enjoying themselves but I sat outside with family on a coolish day for a very pleasant Americano with a salmon and cream cheese Sandwich on granary since had sold out of sausages. It was so good I had another coffee and a deliciously light gluten free brownie. Nice lunch - just need to pick my times better!
