Germering is a town of approx. 38,000 within the district of Fürstenfeldbruck, in Bavaria, Germany. It is directly adjacent to the city of Munich and borders it to the west.

This is one of those places where you think it may be possible to find amazing home cooked Bavarian food, unfortunately it is not.
The interior is dated and not in rustic kind of way. Bathrooms smell and look like the ones at the average train station. The menu is rather short in selection and the dishes we tried were best described as "freezer package" food.
Everything from the watery salad dressing, over the bland Spätzle to the just okay sauces was simply underwhelming.
Patrons were mostly small groups of men drinking beer and talking about their day. Again this reminded much more of a train station bar than a traditional Bavarian restaurant.
We had much more flavorful food and variety at Wirtshaus Burkart.

My expectations of typical Greek food were not quite met at Mondo. We enjoyed the starters, although disappointed that the Saganaki, sheep's milk cheese in this case, was not prepared in the Saganaki pan, but deep fried. Therefore had a rubbery taste. We enjoyed the Nausa Grand Reserve. Salad was drowned in some sort of mayonnaise dressing (we were told patrons like it that), instead of just lemon and olive oil (which we asked for with a new salad). Gyros was good, but needed more spice. Staff are friendly and efficient. I'd rather stick to Greek food in while Greece.

I ate here on a business trip to Germering. It was the restaurant closest to the hotel (Hotel Mayer) and therefore very convenient.
The menu for this restaurant is huge and you get a complimentary shot of Ouzo to start off with (take it or leave it). The wine was nice, and the portions huge - and the food delicious yet reasonably priced. Would definitely eat here again.

We visited this restaurant based on reviews from TripAdvisor. We were very pleased. My husband and I went for lunch. The menu is extensive with many selections from Thai or Vietnamese food. We ordered the fresh spring rolls that were the best I've had here in Munich. Following we had the Saturday special - a pork and rice noodle salad - very good. I had the Thai red curry. The vegetables were cooked to perfection and it was spicy, how I like it. I would recommend to give this restaurant a try!

I visited this restaurant for a meal whilst on business.
The waitress was very friendly and spoke Italian, German and English which made it easy to understand her. The range of food on offer was fairly large and tasted delicious. The atmosphere was lovely and the prices very reasonable. Would definitely visit this restaurant again next time I'm in Germering!

Visited during the World Cup in Brazil, but not on a match day. Service was poor and we had to wait quite a while even though the restaurant only had 2 other customers.
The meal was I think re-heated, you might need to be really hungry before entering.

This is a great neighborhood restaurant. Great food. Good service. Prices are reasonably practical for both lunch and dinner. The place is busy but comfortable.

I live in England and I have heard many good things about Wirtshaus Burkart, and after finally having time to spend with friends in Germering, we saw this as a perfect opportunity for me to finally sample the food I have been hearing about for many months. We telephoned Saturday afternoon for a reservation that very night, and although they were pretty busy (there was a party that evening), somehow the host managed to get us a table.
What can I say? It certainly lives up to the reviews I have heard from my friends. Perfectly situated, it can clearly be seen as you approach. Walking through the doors, you are hit by the fact that yes, this is Bavaria. It was everything I had expected, right down to the waitresses wearing the traditional Dirndl and the wood carved tables and chairs. We were greeted and seated with warm welcoming smiles, and soon the owners had been to say hello and ensure we were happy (something I’m lead to believe is a regular occurrence). Family owned and run, it is clear that the owners are passionate not only about the food served, but the entire experience of the patron.
As the waitress was informed that I was English, she was very kind and bought a menu translated into English for me. These little touches make a great impact on us and are extremely appreciated. I was surprised at how inexpensive everything was. Certainly cheaper than I had expected, and what I would usually pay for a meal out. After a lot of deliberation due to so many things that I wanted to try, I ordered a rump steak cooked rare. Now, having eaten in Germany many times over the last few years, it is safe to say I have never been served a rare steak when I requested it…until now. It was cooked perfectly, just how I like it. The portion was extremely generous and my friends also thoroughly enjoyed their main dishes (we did not order appetizers). Onto dessert…24 hours later and I still cannot find the appropriate words to describe the ‘bee-sting cake’ (rough translation). All you need to know is this: if you like cake and almonds you HAVE to order this!
Overall, this is a lovely restaurant with wonderful staff, owners, and ambiance so it would be selfish of me to not recommend it. I am already looking at my calendar so that I can book a flight back to Germany and enjoy another evening at Wirtshaus Burkart!

After walking by this place a few times during evening walks, we decided to go there for breakfast one weekend.
My first impression was "wow" - the interior is decorated with an extremely cute, personal touch that makes you feel relaxed and at home. 5 stars for the decor.
One of the staff told us to take any free table but then took a bit longer than we would have liked to come ask for our order. I didn't mind but my partner was hungry and grumpy :)
The menu items are breakfast/brunch, and they also serve homemade cakes (I will try them next time!).
I had scrambled eggs with chopped tomatoes and toast while my partner had omelette - it was tasty but nothing special.
The tea they served was delicious - bought by them from a local tea shop.
My complaint is with the crepe I ordered - it was barely cooked through and very oily. I will not be ordering pancakes there again as I can make better ones at home.
Overall though, it's a nice place for breakfast/lunch with good service (rare in Germany). We plan on coming back again!

We visited this restaurant because it had good ratings. I'm sorry to say we were disappointed. The service was average. The atmosphere was nice. Most importantly the food was mediocre. The bread, soup and pasta were salty. The minestrone soup had only clear broth and vegetables, no beans. We had two pizzas that were nothing special. The only good dish was the arabiatta. Wish I had more positive things to say.
