Thyme at Rosemary's is a unique, cozy restaurant situated along the main road of Gansbaai. The restaurant boasts a beautiful garden courtyard serving lunches between 12h00 & 15h30 as well as two lovely interior Seating areas with soft music and candlelit dinners from 18h30. We are not small child or infant friendly. Eight years and older are most welcome. The menu consists of fresh seafood, traditional South African country cuisine, vegetarian, vegan, grills and various daily speciality dishes. Bookings essential
It's a bit of a shame to say that this was our most ordinary experience dining in the immediate area. There was only one person waiting on tables and, although that was ok as it wasn't overly busy, the food Delivery was rather slow and mostly fairly bland. My salmon trout mousse special starter was good, my wife's sea food soup pretty ordinary. Her salmon trout main was cooked dry (something to do with the long serving delay?) and my prawns were the most difficult to peel the shells that I've had in a long time. We didn't bother with desserts (couldn't afford the time!) and the seats were pretty hard and uncomfortable. Not an inspiring experience on this occasion - sorry.

Overlooking the beautiful working harbour of Gansbaai, with spectacular sunsets over the ocean.Where you can enjoy the fusion of Overberg hospitality, fresh seafood and South African meals. Child friendly, with an outside play area. Non smoking area inside, smoking area outside.Fully licensed, we accept Visa and Master cards.
...waiting time was too long. We've waited for more than 2 hours for the food. The location is nice and cute, a small friendly place. The fish and calamaris were great, price is ok.

One of the best restaurants in Gansbaai, the owner Kloeks cooks with her heart and it is brilliant
Our guest house owners suggested this place. It's a relatively small venue (about 26 covers) but you need to bring your own wine/beer as there's no licence. The menu was very suitable for our choice of food. The starters were lovely - we separately had spring rolls and king prawns (6). One of our mains of line fish, being hake, was one of the best of the holiday. I chose the lamb which turned out to be 3 very thick chops, about twice as much as I would normally have! For dessert I had the chocolate pots (mousse); my wife had the pavlova - both very good. The service was very good too.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely day at the restaurant. Service was fast and friendly, and we were able to find (although limited) vegetarian options for breakfast and lunch. The view is wonderful and the staff were kind enough to let us work on our research for most of the morning. Will definitely return when we find ourselves in Gansbaai again.

Situated in a 100 year old limestone fisherman's cottage, the owner and staff welcomes guests into a warm and cosy environment, serving freshly prepared dishes, using fresh, local and sustainable produce. It's like having dinner with friends, the way it's done in the Strandveld.
The Blue Goose will charm you by the welcome of it's friendly waitress and owner. It's modest little village house does serve delicious non-pretentious meal for decent budget. We had a lovely evening.

We are a family friendly, family owned and run, fully licensed restaurant. We serve a variety of meals that will satisfy a wide range of palates and tastes, from breakfasts to lamb shanks, pastas, seafood platters to desserts and coffees. Our cakes, scones and breads are all baked in house and we serve a wide variety of coffees, teas and after dinner drinks. We have a little something for everyone in the family and have recently opened our kiddies room to keep the little ones occupied while mum and dad get to relax. We are situated at the corner of Dirkie Uys & Voortrekker Streets opposite Gansbaai Primary School.
First breakfast at Tuscany which is under new ownership. Lovely to see the change - fresh look and nice atmosphere. Friendly and efficient staff.

I visited this restaurant 4 times and the food is always good. On my first visit I tried the cappuccino which was really good. On my last visit we tried the mushroom starter which was good. We had the Caribbean Pizza and a Margarita with extra salami. Good honest food.

Why go and sit in a restaurant if you can have fish and chips from take away containers at a fraction of the price but at probably better quality. Plus you can go and eat overlooking the sea.
