We had our very first Sri Lankan dinner at Lords when arrived.
It seemed that it was THE trendy place to go in Negombo.
The back of the restaurant is much nicer than the area near the street so I regretted we were not offered a table there. The service is very good though.
The cocktails were average and the food was nice. I had prawns served in a coconut sauce and a sort of beetroot chutney which was lovely. The curry itself was nothing special but it was a smooth approach to the local food.
We had so much better for much cheaper during as we traveled around the island. Especially in the guesthouses.

We stayed in an adjacent hotel and people we met there recommended this restaurant. Unfortunately it turned out to be very disappointing.
The menu was more Chinese than Sri Lankan, with some European dishes available also. We both chose Chinese dishes that involved beef. The food presented was fairly lacklustre but the beef was inedible - it smelled and tasted disgusting. When we finished we complained to the waiter about the beef. He grinned and ignored us - though I did hear him shouting into the kitchen as he cleared the plates 'beef disgusting!' - as if it was some sort of joke.
Poor!

This restaurant was serving excellent food few months back and I have reviewed it as one of the best Chinese Restaurants in entire Sri Lanka,
Of late, the food at the restaurant lost its flavors and some of the dishes are very unpleasant for the palate.
May be the change is temporary due to the chef is on leave and is replaced by somebody who is not as experienced.
Hope the management would do something good to improve the state back to its old splendour,

You can't expect anything new from a franchise outlet so the menus and products were pretty standard. But the service was on the more slow side so could be improved.

Food are somewhat expensive. Convenience is the easiness to access. They take about 30 minutes to prepare a fried rice. The food portions are very small compared to other places in Sri Lanka and also too expensive.

Though we visited this restaurant even once in month, this time we had luch at the restaurant with all my family. This time it was terrible. Bad. Our lunch was so poor and our cash is in vain. We buy vegetable chopsy, and there is no young corn added. It's almost like a soup.
And Letona special chicken fried rice is just like a steam riced. I never recommend this restaurant ...

The place was Too Crowded & Service was very very Slow. We waited more than 20 minutes & only two girls were serving. So we left the place without placing the order. My wife recalled this place were we met 11 years ago.

I have been visiting First Choice since they started the place. Unfortunately what I found is they are loosing their concern on providing best services to people. It was a best place for my family specially my little daughter for evening hangouts. They had laser lights in their place and my daughter loved it.
It was very clean those days dining area had been decorated nicely. Now they focused on teenagers who attend private tuition classes in Gampaha Town rather than families and people who prefer good food in good environment.
Good thing I found it the food is as same as before, and sometimes I visit them to buy pastries and buns on my way home.
I wish they could see this and restore their quality again.

this is a relatively new bakehouse in Gampaha, offers average Seating but a good range of light snacks like buns and pastries. a hot plain tea and a fish bun is a good combination. their ketchup tends to be a bit weak however. there is no wait staff, it is entirely self serve.
