It's a hotel, but you can eat there without being a hotelguest.
We were there on a sunday night. We reserved in advance and got a nice table. The restaurant was half full. The service was friendly. After our meal the cook came and asked us if everything was to our satisfaction. Which it was. We ate pizza's and lassagne's.
The have enough parking space and a busstop at 100 meters.

A lovely evening walk up the snowy mountain road - about 10 minutes from the Tannenboden hotel. Dairy a big feature of the menu, but some alternatives. Raclette was delicious and fondue seemed to be being enjoyed by the table next door. Good kids menu. Very traditional setting and friendly staff.

Lots of facilities, restaurants, hotels. The views are simply stunning. A wonderful alternative to the more famous Swiss resorts as well as better value.

A warm welcome in Seeben Seebenalp is a seasonal Business and has in the summer season from the beginning of june until the end of october. And in the winter season from the beginning of december until the beginning of April. Our Restaurant has 120 places and the sun Terrace 200.
Seebenalp is located on a small lake, snow covered in winter, and offers beautiful views into the Mountains. It's a good stop for some rest (from skiing or a walk) and to relax in the sun.
The food is nice, the usual stuff you get around here and the service is attentive, almost overly keen to take away the plate once you've put the last bite in your mouth.
The location is recommended for those who want to be a bit off the beaten track as you need to either walk back to the chair lift or take a small lift to traverse.

Beautiful Terrace, funny and attentive staff, great food (try their homemade Wähe - they are huge!) and the best little detail, which you will understand if you love Schoggi Melange like I do: they give you a straw with a tiny bit at the end, which serves as a spoon! If you ever drink Schoggi Melange, you'll understand the challenge of drinking the hot drink, without getting the cream all over or up your nose so this was an unexpected and pleasant little detail.
Great place to stop your weary legs from skiing the whole day.

True to my word in my last post I returned with five colleagues.
Unfortunately this restaurant is closed for refurbishment. They have a separate restaurant set up in the basement, with a very restricted menu and no Thai Curry.
Unfortunately we chose to leave and eat elsewhere.
The staff were very polite and apologetic and there were no hard feelings on departure, just dissapointment. The sort of disappointment where you have been psyching yourself up for this meal for a few weeks and your jowls are salivating all the way to the restaurant only to find it will not be when you arrive.
Hopefully next time I am in the area it will be open again and my luck will be in.

La Dolce Vita is located in Walenstadt. Its only a few Miles from the resort Walensee.
We thought it offered good value Italian cuisine there were five of us and we all had something different from the menu with no complaints.
A bottle of House red was great value for money .
Service was excellent with a friendly atmosphere. There was a small bar, both the bar and restaurant seem to be popular with locals.
To find turn off the road in to the main shopping area of the village opposite the station. At the top of the street there is a roundabout go left off this and the restaurant is on the right there is ample parking close by.

Perhaps the best option when going from zurich to san bernardino.
The view of the lake is breathtaking and this restaurant / cafeteria deserves a visit just to enjoy this view.
The coffee and cakes are good. Choices for lunch or dinner are addequate, with a sufficient variety and acceptable quality, including a salad buffet. The adjacent shop is small but offers a good alternative for last minute shopping.

Like the title says, only the view is good. I don't like the amtosphere here, the food is ok, the people who work there are to popular for me.

Of course the Schluessel is not a secret, since the chef makes some of the most delicious dishes in the eastern part of Switzerland. You can choose between the fine dining restaurant or the more bourgeois Stube. Food, wine and service are always impeccable, done with great attention to detail and definite
Passion. My favourite must be the white wine cream soup, I have to have it at each visit. The place itself is beautiful and welcoming the chef friendly and the front house warm and inviting. Definitely worth more than one visit.
