Café offering great menu with chocolate related food and drink - very high quality, well presented an reasonable prices. I had Coffee Mocha with a Belgian waffle and hot chocolate ~ €9. Great friendly service, which included extra chocolate! Great place to stop - free parking opposite the shop.

When the first autumn snowflakes joined the rain outside we had a perfect dinner at the open fire inside.
Chestnut soup, foie gras, white chocolate with cocus, filet of deer coated by a "praline de noisette", chocolate variations with white truffles, a wirde range of (local) cheeses, fresh different breads.
Muscat and red wine also were brilliant.
Mouth watering in each step of the menu, all ingredients were delicious.
Service was friendly and helpful. (not always the case in France)
The wine card (book) was too extensive to study.
Unfortunately for us there is a distance of more than 400km to visit this restaurant at the Belgian/French border.

The restaurant has a friendly atmosphere. upon entering the staff stayes behind the bar and we wonder whether we are welcome. strange.
The menu is also strange, a lot of starters but hardly main courses most of them mainly salads.
salad which is otherwise very good.
The staff continues throughout our visit stiff and almost unfriendly and we just do not have other orders anymore. And leave disappointed.

We spent a night at Odette's, a beautifully redone "café" on the French-Belgium border (80km from Luxembourg) where we had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant and stayed the night in an equally nicely redone guest house located on the other side of the church square. The design, furniture, decoration are all very nice, even though a trifle darkish (dark aubergine, dark brown and black) and the food is excellent too. Service on the whole was a bit slow, especially at the breakfast table. This is a good location for a quiet weekend in the middle of nature.

5miles from Abbaye d'Orval, the perfect retreat for a glass of the golden wonder. The restaurant is just next to the French border. Does a wonderful Trout with potatoes/bacon and a deliciously crispy fresh lettuce. Followed by a great espresso. Good to take short walk after in the hills around the steam. Well worth a visit.

We went to this restaurant as we had heard fairly good comments from other people. One of us had gone there to make a reservation for Saturday night dinner. He was told that there was no need to make a reservation to sit outside. Unfortunately, when we arrived at 7.30 PM this was not the case. We were told that we had to wait for a table outside up to one hour. However, after asking, they told us that they could give us a table inside, which we decided to take as we were all fairly hungry. Ordering took ages! Then, the lady taking the order didn't take them properly and was very 'bossy'. She must have forgotten that we were the customers. Hence, when the starter arrived they were not exactly as we ordered them. However, my snails were good the rest OK. As a main course most of us had "Filet American/Frites", which was considered by the majority as 'so-so'! My Pizza was really not good. May be I'm spoiled by two restaurant I know somewhere else in Belgium, which can't be topped! The crust was too hard (burned & over done) and there was almost nothing in the middle and pretty ''spongy". When paying the bill I was asked by the cashier how things went ... Hence, I told him frankly how we felt and he apologized. My assumption is, that they were totally overwhelmed and understaffed with the high attendance/turnover that night! Bad and unprofessional planning!!

Very nice restaurant with polite service, free starters from the house. We enjoyed the cuisine, although it is quite expensive - be ready to pay near 80 eur for the 2 main dishes and house wine.

Delicious food with a local twist. Orval beer from the tap served at the right temperature. Nice and super fast service despite restaurant being ¾ full at the peak hour. Perfect location, a stone's throw from the abbey. Not too loud and crowded, nice Terrace with a beautiful view at the abbey.
Good value for money. Normal to low prices. Meal for 3 (2 adults and a child), beer, coffee and dessert 55€.
Absolutely recommend. Especially the beer from tap and porkchops with Orval cheese.

If you are in this lovely region of southern Belgium don't miss this very good restaurant. The menue of Florentin offers a very good range of fresh fish (even fresh lobster), meat or sushi. They serve the best bio beef I have ever tasted in a restaurant. You can have your perfectly grilled beefsteak with different kind of sauces. Try the sauce morilles or poivre vert! It comes with gratin or frites and with very good and tasty vegetables. For dessert try a colonel, home made lemon sorbet with a little vodka, very tasty. The wine list offers a good range of french white and red wines. Even some ecologial grown wines. They have a nice and quiet Terrace behind the restaurant overlooking a small garden. Service is perfect and professional. We go again, once!
