There are three superficial reviews listed here previously, which tell you almost nothing. This small hotel restaurant has been around for a long time in this quintessential Ligurian seaside village. We have been fortunate to dine here four or five times in the last two decades. The small dining room establishment strives for and achieves great things. The menu may be a little narrow, but everything coming out of the kitchen is beautiful, well balanced and delicious. The quality of the ingredients and the presentation justify somewhat elevated prices.
For many years Michelin had awarded the restaurant a star. Michelin, in Italy, is even more inscrutable and erratic than in France. Now listed, without a star, the restaurant is still a very reliable and enjoyable destination. The spaghetti, with shell fish and grilled peppers we had today for lunch was sublime. San Pietro with zucchini very respectable, but with just a tad too much salt. The dessert cart was full of lovely temptations. The wine list, concentrates on white wine and champagne, consistent with the strong seafood direction of the menu.
Service was gracious and low key. Sitting on the veranda, with an unobstructed view of the sea, and a fine meal unfolding, represents what fine dining is about. Bravo. We will be back.

This is a very popular restaurant with a nice, relaxed athmosphere. There is an open fireplace, and a pizza oven in the restaurant which was great when visiting in January. Service was good and helpful. Maybe we were not choosing the right courses, but we were not impressed by the food. We had beef and pasta, and were not too excited about the food. It was OK, but based on the number of people in the restaurant we had expected more than average. You should probably take the focaccia and something from the grill as this is what they have on the standard menu. We will come back and try again.

If you like good sea food, this is the place. The starter sea food platter was great. Main courses did not disappoint, the cooking was Ligure style, very well cooked and presented.
Price wise, very reasonable. I personally like the waiter style of looking after us, helpful and yet not intrusive.

Casa Doc Pochi Tavoli Ambiente elegante ,ma a conduzione famigliare. Aperto tutto l'anno .Prenotazione obbligatoria. In estate il servizio si sposta all'esterno ,ma il numero dei coperti rimane invariato perché viene chiusa la sala interna.
Delicious food, beautiful presentation, great service! Nice selection of wine. Very good chef who is mainly using organic ingredients. Very nice atmosphere, definitely want to come back :)

The restaurant is situated in beautiful Finalborgo. The waitress was very friendly as always, she speaks English very well. The antipasti were great. The menu, which exists only in Italian, is quite short, which is usually ok. Unfortunately we didn’t choose very good, therefore we were a bit disappointed. We’ll come back for sure, hoping that we make the better decisions than this time. They don’t serve salad & coffee, therefore you get a free limoncello.

If you are hungry, but very hungry this is tour place. On the hills overlooking Finale Ligure this very symple and basic restaurant. Gives, if full, some little troubles to parking; inside a friendly staff waits to offer more mountain then seaside food; directly from next door Appennini Mountains. Ravioli, bear, grilled food are dominating in their cusine, if u do not exect "chef-dishes" u'll not be disappointied, and prices are low.

The "Osteria La Briga" offers traditional Italian dishes signed by Jacopo Lovisolo
Restaurant is pretty, and they provide nice peanuts, bruschetta and service, but that's the most I can say. Extremely salty food, very soft overcooked gnocchi, and tastless grilled/burnt meat. More expensive than the main town or Finale Borgo (starters are 12e and the grill meat was a whopping 20e). Avoid.

The typical ‘osteria’, not fancy, not always impeccable in the service, but an extremely satisfying food experience. Dishes all inspired by traditional flavors with good variety and some special piece, like the ‘Fassona’ steak, or the fish ravioli.
Very large portions. And the real surprise is in the price!
Worth visiting if you are in the area. Reservation recommended, the place is always full.

Spiaggia Con Ristorante
Staying frequently in the South of France we decided to trie out their Italian neighbours in Liguria in 2008. We ended up in Albatros Varigotti. Bagni Gallo was situated in front of our hotel. This beach bar & restaurant is our main reason for returning here every year since. What a great dish, of course You have to like fish and pasta with a cold glass of Pigato, but who doesn't...!! The staff works very relaxed and friendly. You'll expirience a laid back atmosphere and a great seaview in which kids are more then welcome.
We will be looking forward going to Bagni Gallo this year again!!

This restaurant is just outside of Finale, up on the San Bernardo estate on the hills above the town. It has been newly decorated, and is modern and clean inside. The folks who eat here were a little dressed up - its probably not a location for casual dining. There were families with kids there, but the kids were very well 'disciplined', probably not great for a more relaxed family meal out.
In the summer there is a nice Terrace, with views of the sea and across the valley to the hills opposite. it has a nice ambience.
The menu is a little biased towards seafood, which is normal considering its a seaside town, but something to bear in mind nonetheless. I would have preferred to see more meat and vegetarian options, as there really is not much of a selection available. What is available is very nice, there is a good use of herbs and spices in some of the sauces / ragu which bucks the more traditional Italian approach of un-spiced food. Its very well done and there is obviously some real talent in the kitchen. The food has a more expensive / higher class feel to it than most of the restaurants in the town below.
The service is reasonable, the staff have been trained well, although when we ate there it seemed as though the kitchen forgot to make main courses for half the table and we had to mention this several times before anything happened. This would perhaps be normal in a less 'formal' restaurant, but given the prices and the food / decor of this place, its really not a mistake they should not be making.
Overall, good, but we had the impression there were a few things which should have been done better. Limited menu could be a problem.
