Located on a very quiet beach front, west of the harbour of Makry Gialos. A five minute walk from the harbour. Closed on Mondays. Inside and outside Seating, table service and bar service. We are a full service Restaurant.
We are the kind of people who keep coming back to the same places. "Why change a winning team", is our motto! And so far this restaurant has "delivered" every time around. They have excellent food. The chef is a greek macedonian, who have travelled the world, so he has an interesting international flavour to everything he makes. You may call it "crossover", even though it's base is definately greek. If you travel a lot to Greece, we can get a little fed up of moussakas, gyros, souvlakis and french fries. We can even get fed up of greek salad and tzaziki, believe it or not. That is why the restaurant Stratos, is a very welcoming place to eat, because here you can have something different, but still have all the greek food, if that is what you prefer. And his wife, Dolores, originally irish, alway supervises everything and makes sure you don,t miss anything. Oh, and did I say that the place is situated in a beautiful beach, over a small hill from the harbour of the village of Makrygialos! It is a beautiful and quiet spot to enjoy a meal cooked to perfection! Thank you so much, Dolores and Van, for all the good food and great company, even though I probably have to spend the autumn to get rid of the extra kiloes!

The setting is lovely and the staff, although very busy, were very welcoming. However, it has a busy hotel style restaurant feel to it rather than the traditional greek taverna so popular in this area. The food was equally uninspiring. A starter which consisted of raw cabbage and raw garlic with cooked shrimp on top was not nice. The rest of the food was OK but not notable.

By the seaside of Koutsouras in the area of Makri Gialos just 2 meters from the libean open sea is the restaurant taverna Robinson.Robinson Restaurant is an effort to discover and enjoy the secrets and the benefits of the Cretan Diet. Our Cusine is based on pure and natural products of cretan land from our own farm. Our dishes are cooked in pure bio virgin olive oil from our own olive trees. For the wine lovers we have our own bio wine from our winery' Ampelourgein'. We are open daily from early morning till late evening and we aim to offer you the ultimate experience based on quality diversity and the value of Cretan life.
We were a family party, visiting during freak summer storms, so we decided to eat here mainly as the interior of the restaurant is large and comfortable. We ate an enjoyable meal and had no complaints about the food or service. That is, until they brought the bill, which seemed very high. We felt that we must have been overcharged, which the waitress denied. Only when the owner intervened did we discover that the bill had been wrong (45 euros too high - not an insignificant amount!). Even if this was an honest mistake, it spoiled what had otherwise been a pleasant afternoon.

"ΟΛΥΜΠΙΟ" situated next to the picturesque harbour (Limanaki beach) of Makry-Gialos. Fresh food and drinks, like Breakfast, Omelets, tasty snacks, the best Greek and Cretan salads, served all throughout the day. At the hot summer nights the great "Mythos" draught beer and cocktails always served with tradition appetising nibbles. Altogether a very pleasant cafe bar with a relaxing atmosphere and good wheelchair access. Chara and Dimitri are your hosts. Welcome.
We spent most of our holiday here. The owners were so friendly and welcoming. My son enjoyed the chocolate milkshakes and the cocktails were Devine. The food was lovely, my favourite was the Greek salads, my son enjoyed the ice cream desserts.
The bar is on the beach and has its own sun beds which can be used.
I would recommend this bar for a chill out with family.

Me and my wife came to this restaurant by following the reviews at Trip Advisor, and for our pleasure, it was all worth! We loved the food, actually it's been quite a while since our last visit, but I took a photo of a dish that impressed me a lot: it tasted like a kind of cheese, so I asked the waiter, what this sauce is about and he told me it was fish's egg! On the picture, is a pink sauce, if you have a chance, try it! It's delicious!
I can't remember what else I had ordered, but I am sure it was all pretty delicious and the dishes were more than enough for two persons.
And finally last but not least, I can not left aside: we were very fond of the staff who attended and served us!
Sure it was really nice time and I definitely recommend it!

We came to this restaurant after Reading the comments here at TripAdvisor and we where all very disepointed!!!
The food is not at all home made, you can feel that most of the food is half-fabrication.
My son took the fish-fingers and they where un-eatable!!!!
Would never come back here and do not recommend any one to eat here!
The only + was the view!

Enjoy authentic Cretan cuisine and fresh fish, in the shadow of old trees. During the day-time, you may relax on a hammock and swim in the clear blue sea. During the night, the rolling sea-waves, the only sound you hear around, makes dining in DIASKARI a really romantic and unique experience.
This is a hidden spot down at the beach. Visited twice. The location is very, very pretty, food was always good and service very friendly. We ate some fresh fish, pasta, and mama’s meat balls that were great. Only moussaka was a bit dissapointing, everything else was delicious.

Went to dine here today with husband and 2 kids - a lovely restaurant and excellent value for money. Ate mountain of zucchini balls (delicious) amazing octopus in wine sauce, large plate of calamari and both pork and chicken kebab skewers (both come with chips) and had wine and beer and it came to €32!! Food was delicious and service good. No baby highchair but he stacked 2 chairs together and that sorted our 3-year old out and we held the baby. Really recommend this place if you're anywhere near Agia Fotia (it's also only 2 mins walk from the beach) it was a lovely meal.
