Time seems to stand still in Evora, a well-preserved medieval town that features protective walls, a 13th-century cathedral, several palaces, and a 1st-century Roman temple. No surprise that the town center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Even though it’s kind of creepy, don’t miss the Chapel of Bones, where the remains of nuns and monks are arranged in a haunting mosaic.

Domingos creates a wonderful experience with amazing food! He only seats 9 people for dinner so get there about 20 minutes before to get a spot in line. He will guide you through the menu and make suggestions (trust him). Our group shared the baked cheese, mushrooms and ham to start. If you want fish, absolutely go for the sea bass- it was incredible. You sit around the bar so get to chat with the other guests and Domingos as he prepares your food creating a unique and personal experience. It was such a fun night, absolutely worth the short wait!

In an little street near the Roman Temple you find this exquisite place. Great charming reception by Joao, who lets women’s hearts melt. You cannot choose, you eat what Joao and his father have decided. Great advantage: super fresh food and perfect quality. The portions are nearly too much. Wine is good. The place is small, but made it -also thanks to Joao- an unforgettable experience. Do go there, you will not regret it.

Huge portions of delicious food.
And Vasco, the host of the restaurant, is very nice and friendly person. He described us every meal very emotionally and want us to eat ALL like a grandma)
At the end of dinner Vasco treated us with homemade wild berries liquor and it was very tasty.
We recommend this restaurant to must visit in Évora.

Restaurant food made to order, which is necessary to allow time for things to happen, usually customers arrive all at the same time and so with a small kitchen there is no way to do everything at once, but we do requests by order of the kitchen. it comes in a hurry always has suggestions of the day. Food mainly Regional Alentejo and follow good wines at fair prices ... and good desserts for the final shot. and not to forget that quickly and but surely. We are not a gourmet restaurant, we are a single space trying to serve good food and friendliness to make you feel at home. Thank you combined awaits you!
We've reserved this restaurant in order to try the typical Alentejo food. As we were arriving a bit later than the hour we had reserved we've called in advance to inform we were arriving 30minutes later, they were nice to keep our table reserved. As we arrived we checked the menu and ordered a pork cheek, a pork loin, 'migas' and a grilled fish, to a really arrogant waiter that for sure does not like what he does... The place was full (5 or 6 tables) but even considering this, it took too long to serve the dishes, we were waiting for 45min for the food. As soon as the things started arriving the owner (Adelino) checked if everything was on the table and directly saw that the pork cheek was missing the apple puree, so he went to the kitchen to grab it. The pork cheeks were good, the pork loin also, the fish and the pork served with the 'migas' were a bit salty. The overall experience is good but they should consider changing waiter, otherwise they are losing clients for sure.

The 5âmendoas Restaurant is located in the Vitória Stone Hotel. We are a city restaurant, open every day to the general public, and always privileging the best that Alentejo has to offer. Our restaurant is accessible to people with reduced mobility, and has a private dining room where we can make cooking classes. We consider our gastronomy as traditional, although with a touch of sophistication. Alentejo's essence is present throughout our menu, where you can find local cheeses, sausages, olive oils, meats, herbs, honey and many other Alentejo products. Most of the products we use in our kitchen come from Alentejo, privileging the small local producers and the certified products. Our wine list is also focused on the great wines from Alentejo. We take into consideration all our clients' needs, and provide a menu with Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten-free options. We believe that the honesty we put in the dishes is part of the essence of our kitchen, under the seal of Chef Duval Ferreira and the Vitória Stone Hotel brand.
Whilst staying at the Moov Hotel I looked up nearby restaurants on TripAdvisor and was intrigued by the reviews of this restaurant. A good restaurant in a hotel? The reception staff at Moov had also heard good things about the 5 Amendoas so I phoned...MoreDear Steve, It was a pleasure to have you in our Restaurant. Best wishes from everyone at 5amêndoas! Inspired by the tradition, we also make 5 wishes: Health, Longevity, Fertility, Prosperity and Happiness.

Service is methodical and personalized
The owner presents the menu and so he staff is very nice and competent.
Please be aware choice with children. They don’t serve French fries, rice and pasta.
This is a nouvelle cosine with local ingredients where the vegetables are the main dish side.
Good variety on wine. They work mainly with local producers.
It’s absolutely amazing. The dishes provide you an amazing experience of flavors. Take your time don’t go there in a hurry. This is a place to pause and enjoy
The price is very acceptable, regarding the experience €25 pax avg

The Chouriçaria da Praça is a Restaurant/"Tapas house" with portuguese and metiterranic flavours. In the menu you can find tradicional dishes and tapas with a modern touch and all the flavors of "Alentejo". Is slightly decor, the Terrace and a perfect location are the welcome for who want to eat well. All the "Alentejo's" flavours, reinvented by a young and irreverente kitchen
Dined with my wife on a recent visit to Evora. The restaurant is situated across from St. Francisco Church. The restaurant has several arches which adds to the atmosphere. Our server recommended local wine and enjoyed a spectacular dinner - pea soup, veal, pork cheeks and an amazing dessert. The food was well prepared and tasty. Staff were friendly and attentive. This was one the best dinners we enjoyed in our 16 day visit to Portugal. Highly recommend.
