At a somewhat unprepossessing holiday camp on the edge of Estavayer-le-Lac resides this welcoming lakeside restaurant serving up tasty, well-prepared food from an eclectic menu. A large Terrace - bustling on a warm summer evening - provided a great view of Lac Neuchatel to the sunset over the Jura montains. Competent, courteous staff served us generous plates of tapas starters, local lake fish, tuna tartare, chicken curry, salads, lavender-flavoured crème brulée and fruit salad, accompanied by a good Swiss rosé. A very satisfying meal in a relaxing atmosphere.

Went there on a recommandation from our host, Phyllis from the Lady's Manor. We were disappointed. They do have a great location on the lake. However, it's a seasonal operation, and there seems to be a lack of competence both in the kitchen and in the waiting staff. I had a pork filet which was severely overcooked. The place was crowded, and the fast food items seemed to be OK. My son had a hamburger and he liked it.
Just don't go there expecting too much.
Quick note: locals call this place "the Club House" and it is in fact the club house for the local sailing club.

The Lagune is a great place for the family for a celebration. Cocktails (although didn't taste any alcohol in my Mochito!!!) barbeque & great atmosphere! Watch out that the dessert buffet is only on weekends and not on Thursday nights - my son was disappointed.

I discovered this restaurant on one of my frequent trips to this area. Fresh fish must be hard to come by in a landlocked country like Switzerland, especially in a little suburban town like Chez-le-Bart. But the Japanese owner/chef of this restaurant has managed to put together a very nice menu selection, on par with any neighborhood Japanese restaurant anywhere (incuding Japan). The menu is fairly standard, but there are some gems. The sunomono was outstanding, quite imaginative. When i was there, the restaurant was packed, so reservation is probably wise. About 10 min walk from the Gorgier-St-Aubin train station.

The food is at best average, I would probably rate it around 2 over 5. Pizzas are quite weak and in particular the ingredients used do not taste very good (maybe a freshness issue?).
The service is really terrible. If I could I would rate it negatively... We have waited more than 1h30 for just two pizzas... Several people that have arrived after us have received their food way before us (they seemed to know the place... so I guess it is better to be a loyal customer if you want to be treated correctly). In addition to that, the waitress was extremely rude (after 1 hour I inquired about when we would got our pizzas and she shouted at me something like "you just have to wait, there is no reason you get your food before the other customers") and disrespectful (not even saying thanks and goodbye when we were leaving the place after having paid).
In short, do not go there, there are much better options in Estavayer (like la "Gerbe d'Or" or "Le Carmen", both are at a walking distance from this place).

Tonight we had à delicious dinner at La Trinquette in Bevaix, the restaurant is situated in the small harbor, easy parking, and a great view on the alps. Staff was friendly and did a good job. A la carte has severall good choices, fish, meat, with seasonal
vegetables. The starter fois gras with remy martin cognac deeeeelicious, main course home-made potatoes, and fries, and beef from Uruguay on a hot plate, very tastefull and the lamb filet wrapt in bread, with pumkin mouse; very good!!! Wines from Bevaix and the Neuchatel region, Reasonable prices, and a cosy atmosphere. Will go there again. Keep up the good work Lianel Mercier and team..... Ps. Take a look at your website, need some work.

A deux pas de l'Office du Tourisme de Payerne et de l'Abbatiale
Sure picking up La Scala is a good choice, because the place is well taken care of by its manger and owner. On and on and on. Whatever you pick it is good: special of the day, Italian pasta, pizza, or else (even grilled meat). Cleanliness of everything, from napkin to washrooms, enormous choice of dishes (very extended), large beverage selection, excellent price/quality ratio: everything makes that customer's experience will be positive. In the night, in Winter when it rains, this very good restaurant will compel set for the delusion of (typical Swiss) ordinary (bad) weather. You'll leave happy, after the traditional handshake of the friendly manager or his chef.

La Gerbe d'Or is a nice restaurant at the old center of Estavayer. It is a small place with very good food and a very friendly service. The salad served was very good with a very nice vinaigrette. The fish soup served in a large bowl and with garlicbread and aioli was very good as well though missed a little the spicy touch I like in such a dish.

Having recently visited the Restaurant du Jura, my first impression was that it seems like an institution. The large garden, which is tastefully covered with sun sails, is full with families enjoying a Sunday lunch.
The restaurant specializes in local fish - there are a few dishes with three types of different fish. I had the trout with chanterelles - unusual combination, but delicious.
Their selection of local wines (Chasselas) is also nice and shows off the best of what canton Vaud has to offer.
The service is quick, friendly and competent.
