Eretria (/əˈriːtriə/; Greek: Ερέτρια, Eretria, literally "city of the rowers") is a town in Euboea, Greece, facing the coast of Attica across the narrow South Euboean Gulf. It was an important Greek polis in the 6th/5th century BC, mentioned by many famous writers and actively involved in significant historical events. Excavations of the ancient city began in the 1890s and have been conducted since 1964 by the Greek Archaeological Service (11th Ephorate of Antiquities) and the Swiss School of Archaeology in Greece.

I've been at Thealos Restaurant a couple of times. It is a lovely place where you can either have a coffee sitting on the beach or dinning enjoying traditional greek food. Prices are quite low and service is lovely, proffesional and very kind. If you visit it, i think you won't regret.

Best dishes: Fisherman spaghetti and giant white beans. Nice toasted bread with olive oil. White house wine quite acceptable. Very well frequented though it's a tad difficult to get the waiters' attention but then, service is quite fast.

This is a typical Greek seaside restaurant in the very center of Amarynthos, Evia (Euboea). What is immediately striking is the decoration with flowers at the waterfront which makes a great impression. The servicing was fast, friendly and efficient, and the food was delicious. Recommended!

Nice seaside location, wonderfull shrimps saganaki kokkino or Greek style, wonderfull fresh salads, great frites, good house wine, friendly service, honest pricing. Be carefull if you think mezze or pikilia is an appetizer mix, like in some other places: here you get a HUGE selection of grilled octopus....

This restaurant is amazing. The food is sublime and the staff couldn't do enough for us. They are all a credit to the owner.
Great location overlooking the sea, where we sat for hours just picking at the plentiful dishes we had ordered.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It really is a must to visit.

At the sea shore town of Oropos some 50 klms north of Athens we found this very nice “tsipouradiko” . This Greek term is used to identify a tavern specializes in small plates of Greek appetizers and offering a large selection of Ouzo.
It is worth to stop and visit the place specially if you take the ferry to the Island of Evia, as the tavern is located very close to the ferry terminal.
The welcome was very friendly and we received our order quickly. The selection of mezes was so big that it is impossible to try everything. What we tried was very good and tasty: “kopanisti” cheese from Tinos, sea fruit platter, marinated anchovies, potatoes staffed with cheese, pastourma pie, house salad, meat balls, baked feta cheese, wine and a couple of Barvagiannis ouzo (green label). We found the portions and rates reasonable as we paid only 67 € for 4 persons. The tavern has a pleasant ambiance and the staff was polite and helpful. We recommend this place in comparison with others in this little town.

I had read that it was a very good place so I decided to visit it last week. I did not get crazy about. One of the many Ouzo-meze taverns one can find in Greece. Simple but nice warm atmosphere. The place is very small (6-8 tables) and a reservation is recommended. It serves a variety of typical Greek mezes of standard taste and quality. From the plates we tried I did not find anything exceptional to be praised.
We tried the taramosalata, fried kalamari, shrimps with tomato sauce, and steamed mussels. All were average. Same for the prices which were reasonable. We paid 31 euros for two persons including house wine The service was all done by one person who was polite but not very attentive, some standard things like napkins, salt and pepper were missing from the table and we had to ask for them . Maybe we caught them at a bad day but I do not think I will try it again.
