It is approximately 157 kilometres north of Durban, situated in hilly countryside, overlooking a flat coastal plain and the major harbour town of Richards Bay only 16 kilometres away. The N2 freeway runs just east from Empangeni intersecting the John Ross Highway (R34) which connects Empangeni and Richards Bay.

their staff seem to mingle too much with the guests. when you call them for assistance the waitress would come to you dancing. forgetting the fact who came to dance and work. their bad tendency of adding something you didn't order on your bill. You can wait sometimes up to 45minutes for your food.
male assistants are much better then females.
I love the free Wi-Fi system. their food is nice as well but they need to be strict with their staff.

A cosy 120-seater coffee shop & restaurant with upmarket furniture and trimmings. Wide variety on the menu, from light breakfasts like bacon & eggs, pancakesto delicious burgers (chicken or beef), lovely salads and lasagnas (beef, chicken and veg), to the big boys like the Big Easy, chicken chilli pesto pasta and the tramezzinis. The focus is on excellent product with excellent service & atmosphere - i.e. the entire experience. Fully licensed, with free wifi for customers. Full menu available from the web site.

Heading back to Eshowe from Hluhluwe we got a bit peckish and swung into Nando's for a bite; as we needed a relief stop we did not drive through.
The lovely lady took our order and we waited and we waited and we waited. I am not altogether sure but I got the impression the drive through had precedence over us because 5 cars were served whilst we waited.
At last the food did arrive and it was ok but only average.

The place was really overcrowded and you could not even hear the music above all the noise. Besides being along the highway right in the centre of town it is convenient when wanting to do shopping and just to have a quick lunch or snack, but it I not a place for a relaxing lunch or supper. It is really a very busy place and the food is mild to a very hot Peri - Peri chicken. Chicken lovers will enjoy the food.

My wife, a friend, her son, and I had breakfast here yesterday and were impressed by the staff, building and food.
This is a new build McDonalds in Empangeni proudly displaying its Haalal certification from the Muslim Judicial Council Halaal Trust.
The staff were friendly and well versed in good customer handling techniques. The food was quickly and accurately prepared. We ate in the modern dining area upstairs and were impressed by the taste and freshness of the product.
We have been here before and had an equally good take-away burger on that occasion.
This has to be one of the finest fast food take-aways in Zululand. It is a new build so let us hope they keep up their standards.
