Driving west in Mexico from Mexico city to Morelia, is not easy to find a good café to stop for drinks and sandwiches. The only one recommended in miles is “Km 118”, located almost midway on 15D toll road, is a nice place with good food, coffee, juice, salads, not to mention the pastries since they have a very good bakery. Some specialties are the “Toluqueña” & “Cod” tortas, next to fresh salads, all served hygiene safe. Every time I stop there, I confirm they have the cleanest restrooms all around. Don’t waste your time with invoice & paperwork after you pay the bill. Consider the food is good so, go out thinking them don´t care much, plus they have no waiters. If you stop for luch 2-4 PM service may be slower than usual. Good luck.

Contemporanean cuisine, immersed in a relaxed ambiance, regional and specialty plates.
Me encontré este rico lugar donde comer y sentarse a beber un rico pulque con unas tostadas vegetarianas bastante ricas.

You can't beat the view and ambiance of this rooftop restaurant. The service was friendly and the Terrace very pleasant for lunch. The menu, unfortunately, is limited but the prices are good. I really wanted to rate this restaurant top-tier for all of the above but unfortunately the food was really greasy and just not that good.

Felicidades.

I have visited this city a few times and this hotel is in the perfect location. With off street parking and right in the center of town, it's great for browsing the shops and then being able to drop off purchases and head back out. As the town shuts down early (and I mean early) during weekdays this hotel also offers a place to grab a bit to eat. It´s not always open so do check and it will be basic but stick with traditional Mexican fair and you'll be ok. Only Telcel gets service in this area of Mexico so plan accordingly. This hotel offers free internet but not all rooms can get it to make sure you find your hot spots if you need to communicate with anyone. There is a pool and Jacuzzi but it's not really warm in the winter. The rooms are clean and equipped with all the essentials. Remember that you are in the Mountains of Michoacan and it can get chilly. I didn´t find the rooms to be cold but be sure you bring some warm PJ´s if you are traveling during the winter to see the Christmas decoration fair or the monarchs.
I will always select this hotel for all visits to the area.

La Terraza Restaurant Café. Aquí se juntan el Hambre con la comida y el buen sabor de Michoacán. Cocina Regional. La vista más bella de Tlalpujahua.
I would not list anything exceptional when it comes to food but it was fine. We only had guacamole and quesadillas but the staff was very friendly and even though they were about to close, took our order. The views are incredible of both the Mountains and the city. Well worth a stop to take in the views and grab some munchies.
Everything closes fairly early in this town except maybe on the weekends during the late fall so don´t wait till dinner to stop by.
In the gambusino you will find typical food of the region seasonal food in a pleasant space and
Located in the heart of the magical town of El Oro, it is a cozy place, with affordable prices and varied dishes that will make your visit unforgettable.
