Cozy Brewpub & Resto with a beautiful microbrewery that is possible to visit it! Open all day long for lunch, drinks, coffe and dinner!
We had the Lorco for dinner with Pisco Sours and their excellent craft beer on tap. All was terrific and the service was friendly and prompt. Nothing is terribly cheap in El Chalten, but prices were reasonable.

Cozy coffee-and-pastry shop by day, wine bar and bistro by night
We had high expectations of this restaurant as it came highly recommended by some of our friends. But we weren't impressed. I ordered the Parilla (barbecued meat) for two and a baked vegetable dish. The vegetables were all root vegetables but it was a really good dish. The Parilla wasn't great. Most of the meat was dry and overcooked. The lamb was hard to chew. The blood sausage, would not recommend. Maybe we ordered the wrong food, but no chance to find out.

I was shocked to find such an outstanding restaurant in the isolated village of El Chalten. My wife and I had steaks that were excellent. So were the accompanying vegetables and the homemade bread. Service was good and they have a pretty extensive wine list. One of the best meals we had during our 5 weeks in South America.
Note that they only take cash.

We enjoyed a dinner at La Estepa. I had a salad with apples, kiwis and a delicious homemade sauce and a tenderloin with malbec sauce, carrot purée and potatoes au gratin. Everything was very tasty and carefully arranged. We would have returned to this great restaurant, but unfortunately we had to continue our trip the next morning....

The Wafflería El Chalten is a family business that was created to impose a culinary concept of creative and innovative way. It features a varied menu. Among the products they are: sweet and savory waffles, sandwiches, salads, soups, smoothies, craft beers, drinks bar and cafeteria. All it enlivened by a warm atmosphere, the best service and a menu that will exceed your expectations. "Your best bet before and after the mountain."

We visited this place twice on our stay in El Chalten. It serves probably the best coffee based on our hotel’s advice and our limited sample, although not quite up to our normal standards. That said, the staff are very friendly and the decor is good.

This place opens at 1530 when the trekkers are coming back from their hikes. It serves Italian-style gelateria in cones and cups, and you can buy up to a litre of their delicious ice cream. My two favourite flavours were calefate - a dark berry that produces a violent purple tangy ice cream, and dulche du leche extreme - which is concentrated caramel ice cream... just delicious and I went 3 of the 4 days I was in El Chalten... :)

We were here for dinner. The restaurant was popular and busy. The decoration was quirky and the ambience was cosy. The service was friendly and efficient. We ordered penne and lentil stew. Both dishes were simple but tasty. Portions were generous. Price was reasonable.
